Think our length and depth will take home the gold.  Cain has the size to dominate inside against Ill. Brown may eat them up for a snack.

The Whittinger (sp) gal is still there (seems like forever) and their best hope. They're a little like us, in the  mix of age (classes) on the team.

If we get the good start in the first qtr....it will be clear sailing.

Is that positive enough for you all.?

You gonna have your big red gear on Don?

You Betcha!   It's going to become my standard uniform for the rest of the season for the Men's game since it's gone 2 wins for 2 games so far  (didn't work so well for the Ladies vs Rutgers though .:(  Maybe it'll rub off on the ladies game today since they are playing at the same time. )

Nebraska women’s basketball returns to Big Ten road action as the Huskers travel to Illinois.

• The Huskers will try to snap a three-game losing streak that has come against three of the Big Ten’s best and most experienced teams in Rutgers (5-0), No. 9 Maryland (4-0) and No. 19 Iowa (2-2).
• Nebraska is the only team in the Big Ten with two freshmen as its top two scorers, and the Huskers are the only team in the conference with two non-starters leading the team in scoring.
• Leigha Brown, a 6-1 freshman from Auburn, Ind., leads Nebraska with 10.4 points per game including 14.4 points in Big Ten play.
Fellow freshman Sam Haiby, a 5-9 guard from Moorhead, Minn., has added 10.2 points per game off the bench.
• Nebraska’s active roster is one of the most collectively inexperienced in the Big Ten, entering the Illinois game with just 9,822 cumulative collegiate minutes compared to the Fighting Illini active roster with 15,341 collegiate minutes.

Scouting The Illinois Fighting Illini

• Illinois is led by one of the Big Ten’s best forwards in Alex Wittinger. The 6-1 senior from Delano, Minn., is averaging 15.8 points, 7.9 rebounds and 2.7 blocks per game.
• While Wittinger is the lone senior in the Illini’s regular starting lineup, juniors Brandi Beasley and Cierra Rice give Illinois an experienced starting trio.
• Beasley, a 5-9 guard, is the only other Illinois player averaging double figures, producing 10.4 points, 4.3 rebounds and team bests of 5.4 assists and 1.5 steals per game.
• Rice, a 5-9 redshirt junior guard, has managed 7.9 points and 3.7 rebounds this season.
• A third junior, 6-2 forward Ali Andrews, is averaging 7.8 points and 3.6 rebounds while shooting an outstanding 44.9 percent (22-49) from three-point range.
• Fellow junior Courtney Joens is averaging 6.8 points and 3.3 boards, while knocking down 35.4 percent (17-48) of her threes.
• Freshmen J-Naya Ephraim (4.1 ppg, 3.2 rpg), Arieal Scott (8.6 ppg, 2.3 rpg) and Mackenzie Blazek (3.6 ppg, 3.1 rpg) have significant playing time this year.
• Seniors Sarah Shewan (5.3 ppg, 3.0 rpg) and Jaelyne Kirkpatrick (4.0 ppg, 2.0 apg) provide additional leadership.

• For the season, Illinois is averaging 71.1 points per game while shooting 43.8 percent from the field, including 30.8 percent from three-point range. The Illini have hit 67 percent of their free throws and own a plus-1.2 team rebound margin. They carry a minus-0.6 turnover margin.

Both games are at half time.

Girls need to keep the pressure on. Games certainly winnable.... as I've said a million times. Got to increase the scoring...36 at half isn't a world beater, but OK.

From what seen,,,,our length is helping...Ill isn't big

Missed the first qtr...so Mershon started? for who?
