Copeland scored 8 points on 3-4 shooting including 2-2 from 3 point range. Would've had 12 had he been able to see and a Watson pass not quite getting to him on an alley-opp.. So disagree with him being a no-show. He didn't get opportunities to be an offensive threat tonight. This team is really good when they are unselfish on offense. Palmer took 10 of the 22 3-pointers, making 3 while rest of team was 6-12.  He also took 19 of the 51 shots overall. Yes he needs to take most of the shots but he is more dangerous if teams have to play defense on other 4 players on the floor. Borchardt was 4-4 because of unselfish play.

Beat Iowa!!

I would rather Palmer go to the rim than shoot the three,  We do need to set up Allen for some threes.

What’s the most frustrating is if we kept both 2nd half leads, that’s probably a line or two swing on selection Sunday. Say a 6 instead of an 8 or a 5 instead of a 7. Trying not to concentrate on that.

Beating Iowa would help. As I said earlier, 3-3 would be solid during this stretch. Iowa is very winnable. As is Indiana on the road. I’m afraid Rutgers won’t be an easy task. But such is life in the Big Ten this year.

Yeah we gotta get a couple where after the games we’re all discussing how there is no way we shoulda won.

That was one of the easiest conference environments we'll ever play in this season. Wasted opportunity.

This is very true NET rankings don't know when kids are on winter break. On the other hand don't tell Bruno that game wasn't hype.

Tim Miles have to have the most amount of criticism of losses for the least amount of praise for wins.

Always his fault for a loss and someone else’s “great play” for a win.

I think a lot of that is he is really bad at the end of games so we end up losing a lot of 50-50 games at the end.

Curious as to why their 3pt FG% was so high. I didnt see the game. Were we giving giving up open looks or were they hitting tough shots? Combination of both?

I wouldn't say they were hitting tough shots just open shots. Every defense will give the other team open shots. That one big guy #25 usually wouldn't even attempt wide open shots tonight he made them. It just happens its a make or miss league that's why they play 30+ games.

In all seriousness, as bad as that loss hurts, we have 9 games on the road in big ten play. (Minn, Maryland, Iowa, IU, Rutgers, UM, MSU, Purdue, illinois, PSU).

We are 0-2 on the road right now, both failed opportunities yes. I still can see them getting about 4-5 wins maybe 6 depending how you feel about Purdue, IU, or Penn State.

Sky isn't falling. Let's relax. Winnable game again yes. Thought Nana should've gotten a little bit more run. That could've played into jpjs sloppiness in the second half. FTs cost us that game and we are top 3 in conference at shooting FTs. I'm upset but I'm not overreacting. As long as they take care of business at home this year and win 4-6 road big ten games they should be fine.

Oh so sorry that we've blown out Seton Hall, Creighton, and Oklahoma State so we couldn't win a close game. This is based on what a two game sample size if you had a 50-50 chance you would have a 25% of losing both. I'm not going to say he sucks at the end of games based on that.

Also that’s literally how it goes down for every coach not named Coach K, Bill Self or Roy Williams. Fair or Not.

So true, though I'd want to add any team with Lebron to the list it's hard to mess that up.

Really shortened up the bench tonight, especially in the second half. Were there any subs in the last ten minutes or so?

Drew up two nice inbounds plays; unfortunately, neither one worked.

Hopefully next time.

GBR!!

Just watched. I know I’m in the minority but dudes looked gassed.  Barely went to the bench in the second half. No nana. No Brady. Just tanner a few minutes.

TA/cope need more looks. Palmer is great, but tonight his eyes seemed set on the nba scouts.

I thought the same thing. A lot of his sloppiness I think was attributed to being gassed. I don't think he subbed out in the second half, and if he did it wasn't for very long.

Cope was smothered by a bigger guy in jaylen Smith all night. Threw off the gameplan.

Thought Nana should've gotten a couple open looks from deep. He was active in the minutes he did play.

Those 8 missed FTs including two front ends of 1 on 1s really stick out to me.

Those were bad I agree but I saw a few times JPJ could have passed the ball for wide open looks where he didn't and got a turnover instead.  I love the guy but sometimes he has to realize when he's triple teamed there's a couple of wide open guys he can pass too...

I couldn’t agree with this more.

Cowan was inside Watson’s head all night which hurts but he’s a good player

palmer was definitely gassed, shoulda got him a break around the 8 minute mark in the second half after the guy he was guarding scored 3 straight times.

depth really hurt us tonight and will probably get us a few more times this year.

We basically live and die w JPJ which is fine but we gotta have a few other guys trying to create offense here n there to be an effective offense.

Not ready to panic yet we will see what Sunday brings. A loss Sunday and that road game vs Indiana And the home game vs (MSU) become very big. We are still a tournament team but we aren’t a big 10 contender like I had hoped.

expectations are nice aren’t they? Two years ago or even last year this is a game we probably don’t expect to win. Currently we are all pissed we didn’t win. For those that think this game was on miles(it wasn’t) that is what progress looks like in a program.

yeah all sorts of ways we could have turned this into a win

I almost forgot but the game turned when Copeland couldn't finish the dunk because he got poked in the eye it lead to a fast break the other way and our 8 ish point lead evaporated quickly after that. What could've been if his eye was all safe and sound. ?
