Minnesota, not a killer, Welcome to the Big 10 this year.  Maryland, not a killer,  Welcome to the Big 10 this year.  Just when do they become killers.

It was a road game against a Q1 team who’ll probably dance.  It’s fine.  There are no killers this early.  None.

Totally disagree. The pass was off because it is almost an impossible pass—an alley-oop pass from half court with hands in your face. Terrible play. Just get a good look from 3

Totally disagree. Roby had a path to the basket, just Terp intervention prevented a bucket and probably a foul for a chance to win...if we can hit FT.

The Paner hero ball down the stretch had to end and a lot of that is on Miles. Allen is the best shooter on the team but Miles will not or cannot get him open shots. That play out of timeout with 3 seconds on shot clock (not last possession) where pass into Roby and out to James for 3 should have been to Tom.  Need to get the right pkayers the right shots at the right time.

And even if it works you go to overtime just let Glynn shoot a pull-up 3 that’s his shot!

a 3 wins it for us there. that would've been epic. these games you always tell yourself, the other team escaped luckily with one. They should thank their stars. at the same time execution in the clutch is a factor good teams possess, and we aren't talking this way if we had just buckled down and played a good possession of D that we are known for this year and showed in parts of this game too.

in retrospect that result with losing due to missed FTs is probably more brutal than this result is. still kills ya tho

This game is a horrible loss.  No other way to paint it.  Veteran team making critical mistakes letting a winnable road game slip away.  Don’t order those NCAA tickets yet.

“Horrible” would be blowing a lead to Illinois on the road. Not losing a Q1 game. Tough to swallow, yes, and if we’d win these games it’d help our seeding for sure, but keeping us OUT of the tourney? Nah.

Horrible because it was a repeat of Minnesota.  Road wins are gold.

I would have gone for the win at the end, but it was pretty well designed. The out of timeout play where Roby tipped the ball to Palmer for an open 3 was really nice too.

Unfortunately neither worked.

LOVED the Roby to Palmer play. That was perfectly designed and got a great look. Encouraging to see those from Tim

Stop overreacting. This forum is already unfortunately known for its doom and gloom outlook.

However, we need Q1 wins, which we lacked last season. We have lots Q1 opportunities, yes, but we have to start winning them. We didn't last year and didn't Dance.

Fortunatey, unlike last year, we can lose Q1 games as well.  If we “dont win out Q1 games this year, we won’t finish with more than 15 wins.

Go back and watch the replay. By the time the ball gets to Roby there was only 0.3 seconds on game clock. Even if he catches it clean he doesn’t have time to gather and shoot. Would have had to literally tipped it in from a full sprint and jump based on a half court pass.  Almost 0% chance all that works in that time frame.  Plus the defender was with him all the way and had another defender in paint as well. Maryland not going to allow him to just streak down court all alone.  Much rather get a decent look from 3 and live with results.

Whenever we have a kick to the crotch type of loss like tonight I like to go here to remind myself that this year is different:

http://barttorvik.com/team.php?team=Nebraska&year=2019

The metrics love us and the B1G in general.  Someone from the league is getting in at 9-11.  I hope it isn't us with that record, but it shows you how much rope we have to play with.  Losing games like tonight hurt in the moment but can easily be overcome this year.
