The good news is that most of our All Big Ten Defensive performers return. Or at least have eligibility remaining.

...and so yeah, we seem to need an infusion of talent.

Goes back to what @HB said in a different thread about how we didn't have any difference makers on defense.  All the people blaming the defensive coordinator need to take a quick peek at the personnel he had to roll out.  Might not be a lot better next year, frankly. Hopefully some recruits pan out.

Amen!  We have some good players on defense, but to be an elite team, elite jimmy's and joe's are required.

Yeah, to no one's surprise really, no 1st or 2nd team defenders.  C'mon you studs out there, here's your chance to come here and make an impact.

The only 2nd team All-Big Ten performer for Nebraska was the super stud Stanley Morgan Jr. Seems kind of hard to imagine that Adrian Martinez wasn't the B1G FROSH of the Year, and yes, I know that Rondale Moore is good, too. But 2 AM touches the ball every single play while a WR only sees it if his own QB gets it to him. Oh well, win more games & Adrian's more highly regarded. A lot of ppl only paid attention to him when the entire Husker squad got lit up by Michigan early on......

A little better showing on the offensive side of the ball.   But the same holds true, we need to continue to improve the quality of the players.  But...we have made progress, we have a few young players that are pretty special. 

 

Take a look at the offensive lineman.  We have a couple of youngsters mentioned, but moving forward we need to have all our linemen listed on those first three teams; and at least one (if not two) on that first team.

Next year, JD Spielman will be 1st team, A Mart will be 2nd team and Mo Washington will be 3rd team.

 

Brendan Jaimes and Bo Wilson might reach 2nd or 3rd team.

 

Very encouraging that two of our younger OLs were recognized as being two of the better OLs in the conference.

 

We still need some difference makers on the defensive side.
