Kansas Football: Dust in the Wind

Kansas football is drinking the Kool-Aid and forgetting their place in the college football ranks. They seem to think they're a destination job for even the hopelessly fired coaches of Christmas past. Little do they know, Kansas football is just dust in the wind. Same old song, just a drop of water in an endless sea.

Here's a sample list of KU hopeful coaches:

Les Miles

Dave Doeren

Seth Littrell

Lane Kiffin

Troy Calhoun

Willie Fritz

Bret Bielema

Bounds and Moos may be doing the same thing with Nebraska basketball.

Les Miles is a pretty decent football coach.  He may be a good fit at KU.  I think Lane would be crazy to take the KU job.  Although his ego likely tells him he is the right man to elevate KU to the elite level.  Lane has so much talent in his back yard, that he should be successful until a more perfect fit presents itself.

Anymore a bunch of teams don't wait for season end so they can get ahead on the coaching search process.    Not sure Colorado can get anyone better than Mac.   In any event, I look forward to pounding the Buffs next year in Boulder.

Every time I see that knee brace on A-Mart's leg, I think about retribution in Boulder next year.

Be a shame if one of our 330# OLs rolled into their LBs' knees next year.

To summarize:

- $2,775,000 annually, 5-year contact

- Retention bonuses in 2020 and 2022

- If Miles or KU want out of the deal, they owe the other party the amount remaining on the contract

- Bonuses: National Championship ($1M), Big 12 Coach of the Year ($50K), student football GPA above 2.65 ($25K)

- One-year, one-time rollover (+1 year to the contact) if he get the team 6 wins in a season
