I don't plan on contributing daily to this topic, but I thought it couldn't hurt to get this started. Namely, I wanted to remind folks how important it is to root for the Big Ten to perform well vs non-conference opponents. It's too early to know what bubble teams to root for or against, but we do know that we want the Big Ten to having a strong showing in the non-conference for many reasons.

With that in mind, here are some games through the first weekend that we should be rooting for (I'm only listing the games where the opponent is at least somewhat formidable):

Tuesday 11/6: Michigan State vs Kansas

Wednesday 11/7: Ohio State at Cincinnati

Saturday 11/10: Ball State at Purdue

I seriously googled Voldemort College and was thinking what a kick ass name for a nobody school.  Sadly, I realized how dumb I am. ?

Penn State blows open a neck and neck game against Jacksonville State in the last two minutes in front of dozens of fans

Minnesota has the early lead on Utah.  (Minnesota students are now throwing confetti after the first made basket...?)

Creighton beat Clemson? Granted it was on a neutral court, but I’ve seen the Bluejays play twice and was thoroughly unimpressed. Maybe Clemson overlooked them with the Huskers looming on the horizon. Regardless, we better get our s**t wired tight...

McDermott isn't a high ceiling guy, but he's had only 1 team at Creighton that hasn't reached 20 wins in 8 years. That game was never gonna be a lay-up.

Overall,  feel this is a net positive for the program.

1.  It strengthens our game against Creighton. Clemson was going to be a tough game whether they won or lost.   It was also going to be viewed as a tough game.

2.  For all of you quadrant guys, Clemson was not going to lose Quad 1 status from this game.  They are a road game meaning  that it will probably always be a quad 1 game.  Creighton however, with that win, could use it to bump themselves from a Quad 3 to Quad 2 or Quad 2 to Quad 1 game for us at the end of the year.

All I know is with the current losing streaks we have against Iowa football and Creighton basketball - if we lose to CU this year I will probably blow a gasket.

This university needs Nebrasketball right now - we're sick of our men's sports teams being the nail. Can we please be the hammer once.

It will only matter if we win those games.  Miles track record on the road and vs Creighton is abysmal.  Both will be tough. But winnable games. We will be favorites vs Creighton.
