Just realized..change the year from 17 to 18 in your standings! We don’t want another repeat of last season haha

? thanks for pointing that out.  It also means I forgot to switch from 17 to 18 in last year's thread too.  Went the entire second half of last season without anyone (me included) noticing!

Is the Pac-12 really that awful? I fear Colorado may win it.

It truly is.  Oregon is the highest ranked team (#21) and Iowa had their way with them last night.  For some reason Ken hasn't entered the data from that game yet, but it's possible Oregon would fall below Nebraska when he does.

Sagarin just updated. We are still #1 in the land, by a pretty healthy margin.

All good things must come to an end. Down to #2, as of results through yesterday. Duke is #1... we could beat those chumps ?

Not much movement in the Big Ten except for pretty much everyone moving up a few spots, even Illinois moved up after their loss last night.

In the non-con Texas Tech and Clemson basically swapped places, and Creighton continues their downward trend, but everything else is basically unchanged.

Our toughest test is coming up tonight, and the Big Ten is 2nd behind the Big 12 in the conference rankings.  A win will go a long way towards moving the 'Skers into the top 20 and the Big Ten to #1, and here we go!

Kenpom's formula is a joke.  I am so tired of seeing Syracuse and Villanova sitting ahead of multiple teams that deserve to take their place.  Villanova got beat by 30+ points to Michigan and then also lost to Furman.  Yet they are ranked ahead of teams like Clemson, Nebraska, Texas who are clearly better right now.

It is just terrible, and the RPI is even worse yet they are part of the determining factor to get into the NCAA tournament. I am going to keep my word and make my own formula, because your school name ***Cough Cough*** Syracuse should have no relevance in if you make the tournament or not

It's predictive and until some point in December or so will rely on last year's data to a point.  Give http://www.barttorvik.com/ a try...you might like his predictive sauce a bit better.

Something like the RPI or NET will be more reactive to this year but without any sort of past data to rely upon will be inaccurate in a different way.

Jumped 15 spots since the start of the year.

Yeah considering we have won our games 106-37, 87-35, 80-57 and 85-62... 15 spots is not enough IMO.   Our average margin of victory is 41.75, and now the narrative is Texas Tech is our first true test.  Yes I heard those exact words on the radio this morning.  Was Seton Hall not a test?  Give me a break!

I do think if we beat Texas Tech, we will get some love.  The problem is that it shouldn't take a Texas Tech win to get the love we deserve.

I am starting this complaint early, because I know down the road people will have more and more excuses of why we don't deserve this or don't deserve that.  It is a vicious cycle that annoys the hell out of me!

I don't like it... Let me explain why

I hate Iowa... I hate them with a passion!

With that said

8. Oregon 3-1 (Loss to Iowa 77-69)

25. Syracuse 2-2 (Loss to Oregon 80-65)

28. Iowa 4-0 (Beat Oregon 77-69)

^ No explanation works here other than the formulas are a joke

Edit: Forgot to mention Syracuse also lost to Connecticut who is ranked 85th
