2018-2019 KenPom Rankings Thread

Strong start to the season for the Big Ten.  12 teams are in the top 50!!! and we're getting close to having all 14 in the top 100, Rutgers has jumped up 40 spots since the last update!  Other moves of note include Indiana leapfrogging Michigan, OSU and Nebraska are moving up and Iowa and Penn State are sliding back.

Not a lot of movement for our non-con opponents other than Creighton and Oklahoma State moving in the wrong direction.  The Cowboys have a nice schedule with opportunities to rack up some nice wins.  Creighton is about to enter into a meat grinder.

As of right now our non-con SOS is a measly 315th best, but it's early and there's lots of movement in store.  With that said, here we go!

Twelve Big Ten teams in the top 50.  That's insane.  Has that ever happened before?

Not sure but as far as the P5 conferences go:

Big 12 has 9 out of 10 in the top 50.  Oklahoma state is #70

ACC has 4 in the top 10, 7 in the top 20, and only Wake Forest (#102) and Pitt (#121) outside the top 100

SEC has 10 teams in the top 60 and only Georgia (#105) outside the top 100

Pac 12 is a disaster though.  8 teams outside the top 50.  Nebraska would be the second highest ranked team if it were in the Pac 12.

Another interesting stat/ranking :

skip past the blank teams that haven't played a d1 game yet...

https://www.teamrankings.com/ncaa-basketball/stat/opponent-points-per-game?date=2018-11-13

#1 defense in America.  By four points per game.

... yes I know we haven't played anyone with a pulse.  Smile and enjoy it.

Texas Tech has struggled tonight with SEL.

Becoming a blowout midway through second half but still a totally different, more old school Nebraska like game by Tech.

this is definitely not the texas tech team from last year. i think we'd beat them fairly easy.

i think usc would be the tougher matchup for us.

Michigan with the HUGE leap up from 27th to 11th!  Indiana also makes a big jump up, 8 spots.  Our Huskers get a nice 6 spot boost with their win, leapfrogging ahead of Ohio State (although I think that will probably be short lived, as OSU will likely jump back ahead of us after they beat Creighton tonight).

Seton Hall drops 11 spots, hopefully they can get it turned around.  USC only moves up one spot despite crushing Stetson by 36.  Clemson is dropping, down now to 20th, due to posting relatively unimpressive wins versus 3 sub-250 teams.

That's all the big changes for today, so here we go!
