I don't understand how Michigan St. can lose Bridges and Jackson and still be thought so highly of. Granted Izzo has a history of just "reloading" but those two weren't just run of mill type talent. And what's with all the haters dissin' JPJ? The kids a POY candidate and yer leaving him off the All-Conference team? The servings of Crow will be served up Old Country Buffet style all in due time...

Who would you put ahead of Michigan State though? It seems as if although the Big Ten will have quite a few solid teams, there are no elite teams that are expected to be better than MSU.

That's a valid point, but it seems Izzo's resume always gives MSU a pass when it comes to where they're projected. Bridges and Jackson are 1st round NBA type talent, and those guys just don't walk in the gym every other day even at MSU. Izzo get's the benefit of the doubt, that's understandable. Conversely, NU with little pedigree, can't even secure a Home NIT game at 13-5. Hopefully all of this will be settled where it should be, on the court.

Big Ten Men’s Basketball Basketball Preseason Honors Announced

  • Purdue’s Carsen Edwards named Preseason Player of the Year

ROSEMONT, Ill. – Purdue junior guard Carsen Edwards has been chosen as the Big Ten Preseason Player of the Year heading into the 2018-19 basketball season as voted on by a panel of conference media. The media also selected a 10-member Preseason All-Big Ten team with eight conference programs represented.

Edwards was a unanimous selection to the Preseason All-Big Ten team along with Wisconson senior forward Ethan Happ. Indiana freshman guard Romeo Langford and senior forward Juwan Morgan, Maryland junior guard Anthony Cowan Jr., Michigan senior guard Charles Matthews, Michigan State junior forward Nick Ward and junior guard Cassius Winston, Minnesota senior forward Jordan Murphy and Nebraska senior forward James Palmer Jr. earned preseason accolades.

Edwards, Happ and Palmer Jr. all earned First Team All-Big Team honors from either the conference coaches or media in 2017-18. Morgan and Murphy were second-team selections while Cowan, Ward and Winston collected third-team plaudits last year.

Having that said though, they just went on a run down of every team in the league and if you took their words all at face value you'd be convinced the Sweet 16 will feature 14 Big Ten teams and the bench squads from Michigan State and Michigan.

"In Our Grit, Our Glory" is Nebraska's slogan. I don't even care about the others' words tbh.
