The 1994-95 season, the only other time it happened was the 1990-91 season.

Here are all of the times Nebraska was ranked in the AP poll prior to this season.

Poll Date NU AP Rank
11/10/2014 21
11/17/2014 21
1/2/1995 19
12/26/1994 23
3/14/1994 22
12/28/1993 20
12/21/1993 17
12/14/1993 20
12/7/1993 25
11/23/1993 25
11/16/1993 25
2/24/1992 25
3/12/1991 11
3/5/1991 13
2/26/1991 15
2/19/1991 14
2/12/1991 17
2/5/1991 15
1/29/1991 11
1/22/1991 14
1/15/1991 17
1/8/1991 18
1/1/1991 19
12/25/1990 22
12/18/1990 22
2/7/1978 19
3/1/1966 9
2/22/1966 8
2/15/1966 9
2/8/1966 9
2/28/1950 16

This chart alone should be proof that Miles is our guy and should be for years to come.  Until he was hired, we hadn't been top 25 since 1995! It also proves how difficult it has been, for whatever reason, to sustain success at Nebraska.

Not to take away from your point, but this doesn't prove Miles is our guy. If anything it shows that Nee was more "our guy" than Miles. Your second point is spot on though.

The one thing that I will say is that I would like to see that ranking more in Dec/Jan/Feb.  That is based more on success vs a November ranking which is based more on perceived possible success.

Ranking of Seasons by AP appearances

1990-91 - 13

1993-94 - 7

1965-66 - 4

2014-15 - 2

1994-95 - 2

2018-19 - 1

1991-92 - 1

1977-78 - 1

1949-50 - 1

It seem very probable that if we beat Okie St that we won't lose again in 2018 and will end up being ranked for another 3 weeks which would tie us with the 65-66 team with 4 weeks being ranked.

I think you were off on some of the seasons.  I fixed it for you.

JN having St. Johns at #20 is interesting. Must be some BE bias. Sure they're undefeated but I would say Clemson, TT, Seton Hall, Creighton and Minnesota are tougher than anyone St. Johns has played this season. One true away game (at Rutgers) and a 1 point home win over VCU - for a team to be ranked #20 you have to hang your hat on more than that...

I'm trying to upvote this 100 times but the HHC apparently prevents that.

You all realize that Jon Nyatawa is a Purdue graduate don't you? He has no bias towards Cregihton or the Big East. He just covers the Jays. You all sound like a bunch of insecure cry babies.

Jon, is that you?  And, you seriously waited 6 years to make this your first post?  I mean it's cool and all calling us insecure.  I admit, I am.  Success has not come frequently enough for Nebrasketball for me to not be insecure about any Nebrasketball team, especially one this good.

I think it's fair game to call out inconsistencies in anyone's ballot, especially a ballot from someone in our own backyard that appears to have some strange thought processes in his rankings.

I think we've all been silently stalked for 6 years.  I am creeped out and have to shower now.

On a related note...I will not be crying and will be less insecure for the upcoming week as Nebraska is now ranked #25 in the AP poll!!!?
