After seeing him in person, he is not a Big caliber player. Decent handles for his size but he is not very active and does not put a stamp on the game as often as he should. He is an extremely poor man's DJ Williams imo

Remember the day Illini basketball died?

Meyers Leonard does...

For those who didn't listen, both "analysts" ranked Roby as their #1 NBA prospect in the entire B1G.  (I have no idea the credibility of these guys, but I do think The Stepien is a pretty reputable scouting service and I know a different The Stepien podcaster was recently hired as a scout by the Sixers.  They definitely had considerable and advanced stats to support their positions.)  They both basically said they could do an hour-long podcast "gushing" on just him they like his potential so much.  They both ranked Roby as a 1st round lottery pick and one of them considered ranking him as a top 10 pick in next year's draft.

They went on to name Palmer as their #12 B1G prospect (Copeland did not make their list of about 20 prospects).

FWIW, here are their credentials from the website:

Mike Gribanov is a Southern California resident who loves his daughter and youth basketball. Mike’s “expertise” seems to be his talent for obsessively scouring hours of footage from various AAU circuits. He tries to apply analytics driven perspectives to scouting high school prospects and hopes to continuously acquire knowledge of creative approaches in team building and on court game planning.

Jackson is a Lawrence, Kansas native who grew up on Jayhawk basketball. He came to cover the NBA draft due to his intersecting loves of college and NBA hoops, starting the Hardwood Homies NBA Draft Podcast in March 2017 and joining LockDraft.com later that year. Since then, Jackson has combined his numbers-based analysis with plenty of film study in order to build his opinions on prospects. Currently a high school senior, Jackson is still figuring out where he will head off to college, but he hopes to pursue a career working in an NBA front office.

On his story Roby posted a picture from media day with class of 2020 as the caption. Probably means nothing but hopefully he does end up graduating from that class after his senior season this year!

He also included Dachon Burke.  Im assuming he means graduating with it but Im hoping Burke is still here in 20-21 unless he is going pro and not the Walt Pitchford kind of pro.

Sort of surprised that James isn't in the top five.  I have to believe he has an excellent chance for success in the NBA.
