i have noticed this quite often with top recruits though. is iowa's culture of trying to win championships much different than what should be at nebraska? idk

I think of a good example of getting top players too play here is just look at what FH tried doing with the mens teams. He got top tier talnet and all they waanted to do was play hero ball.. Also look at what Connie had in Shepard, how did that work out?

She, with her players in tow, takes whining to a new level!   To win that tournament under the present format EVERY winner had to play three in a row.  I don't recall ANY other coach whining about it.

For the people that would wish Williams would move on. It looks like she may be around for a while.

"Discussions are underway with Nebraska Head Women’s Basketball Coach Amy Williams regarding a contract extension to recognize her success in leading the Husker…

Who is in charge of this??  Why the heck would not one wait until Scoggins suit is resolved?????   Could be Williams needs to go away do her actions or lack of proper actions on all of that!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Why?

1) Because it may well be that, when comes the time to support allegations with facts - Scoggins won't have any facts.  I am sure that those who negotiate and approve any restructured contract are fully briefed on the Scoggins-Love matter.  They know what we don''t.

2) Because she deserves to be rewarded for the performance of her team and (hopefully) having maintained a stable program.

3) Because, given the number of head coach vacancies and AW's success, other programs will come calling.   If, while waiting for the Scoggins case to be settled,  we lose her, then WE join the ranks of those hunting for a quality coach whose system is conducive to the players AW has assembled and who can keep returning players and new recruits together.  No thanks to that.

I guess I'll be showing myself to the door because I agree with her.  I've always thought it ridiculous these games have to be played back-to-back-to-back(to back!).  That causes physical and mental fatigue, which can lead to serious injury.  Why not have a day between games?  Can the B1G bracket be staggered to make that happen?  IIRC, there are two weeks between the end of the season and the start of the NCAA tourney, why not spread these games out?

they are students. The away games during the regular season already keep them away from class so much.  This already could get worse with the addition of west coast teams and the resulting travel time.  Spreading out the tournament would require more sitting around hotels away from home time.  I am really not sure how other major conferences handle their tournaments, but maybe somebody else has figured it out.  Perhaps an alternative would be to have a tournament with just the top 8 teams from the regular season making only three games necessary to get a champion. But that really reduces revenue. All these factors, and more, interact with each other such that it's almost impossible to make one change without having to make others.

One of the weeks is typically spring break.  That's not the week we played the tourney.  Many girls were taking online exams the day of games during the B1G tournament.  Had there been a day between games, they could arrange to study/take exams on that day off.
