listened to matt and greg on sports nightly. i would have to agree with them---not going to "sneak up" on anybody this season. tough 4 games in the first two weeks of big ten. greg stated would be happy to get a win out of the first 4 games and really be happy if they can go 2-2. matt didn't really argue with him.

The schedule is pretty tough from the get go.  Good teams to play in the preseason. Will be a demanding season coming up.

Couple of months to wait ....then buckle up....here we go. The new girls will have to catch on early.  Almost half the team is new to NU.

Coach has her work cut out for her this season. Lots of challenges ...4 freshman...one new transfer...few seniors.....tough schedule..and a crazy forum to please. ?

  I don't know whether you're a 'Glass Half Full' or 'Glass Half Empty' type guy, Steve; But on the brighter side,  :Koolaid2:  We're returning Six very experienced players, all mainstays of last year's team:  Maddie (Sr); Juniors Nicea, Hannah, & Grace; and Sophs Kate.& Taylor.  Sr transfer Kristian Hudson, should be experienced and transition quickly into the line-up.  That leaves the four incoming freshmen, all highly acclaimed and by some accounts representing a top 20 class.  No doubt we'll miss Jaz, Janay & Emily; but the one that really hurts is losing Rachel this year for medical reasons (knees).  A healthy Rachel would have been a valuable addition to have in this year's line-up.

The schedule will be hard, and we won't be catching anybody 'asleep;'  But it seems that we had just as difficult early schedule during Coach Amy's first year when we had to play several former NIT teams.

No doubt there will be some hiccups, but if there is anything we know it's that this team has Heart!   ?

(Now as to pleasing the Forum; that's a completely different 'kettle of fish!' )

Just trying to be realistic......

Right off the bat, we have a great 5 or 6 starter quality kids no doubt.  But......that's not enough to get us through games, let alone the season.

So, as I said the balance of the team will have to come through ASAP. The potential's there. The staff has it's hands full...maybe do every year as far as that goes. But our potential is very very good.

The season  seems a long way off. But it will be here just like Husker football in a week or so. GBR!!

Love the cards.  Attach it to a lanyard around my neck and leave it in the glove box so that it's always there when I go to the game and I don't have to run back to the house to get the tickets or something.

Yep thats what my wife and I do.

I was impressed with veerbeek at the end of the video where she had the player on her hip/ass. And got the rebound.

By NU Athletic Communications
 | 10/18/2018

The Nebraska women's basketball team will participate in B1GWBBall Media Week, Monday, Oct. 22 through Friday, Oct. 26. The always expanding media week includes previews, coach interviews, player interviews and more from all 14 Big Ten Conference teams during the week.

Social media serves as the primary home for Big Ten Women's Basketball Media Week coverage. A full schedule for media week will be announced on the Big Ten's women's basketball Twitter account @B1GWBBall on Sunday afternoon to set the stage for the upcoming week.

Nebraska women's basketball fans are encouraged to follow the week's events on Twitter and Instagram, along with the conference's Facebook page. Information will also be pushed on Nebraska's @HuskersWBB Twitter account, which was ranked No. 14 nationally among all NCAA Division I women's basketball schools in total following earlier this week. Nebraska, which has the second-largest women's basketball following in the Big Ten on Twitter, is one of seven conference schools ranked among the top 25 nationally on Twitter.

The Big Ten will be announcing its preseason awards mid-day on Monday, before Nebraska Coach Amy Williams will be featured in an interview on Tuesday at around 1:20 p.m. Later Tuesday, the Huskers will take the court for the public for the first time at an open practice at Pinnacle Bank Arena. Tip-off for the preseason event is set for 7 p.m., with doors opening at 6:45 p.m. The first 1,000 fans in attendance will receive a free Nebraska women's basketball T-shirt, courtesy of adidas. An autograph session will follow the conclusion of practice at approximately 8 p.m.

On Wednesday, senior forward Maddie Simon will appear in an interview at 1:20 p.m., before Husker sophomore Kate Cain is featured on Thursday afternoon.

Media week will wrap up Friday with the annual Big Ten Coaches Preseason Media Teleconference.

The following week, women's basketball takes center stage on the Big Ten Network, with its annual Women's Basketball Preseason Special. The BTN special will air for the first time on Thursday, Nov. 1 at 3 p.m. (CT) on BTN, BTN2Go and the Fox Sports App. Several other preseason airings will follow.

Whitish Named Preseason First-Team All-Big Ten

Nebraska's Hannah Whitish was named to the 12-player All-Big Ten Team by the conference coaches when the annual preseason honors were announced on Monday, Oct. 22.

The announcement of the preseason teams marked the tip-off of Big Ten Women's Basketball Media Week (@B1GWBBall) on Twitter, Instagram and Facebook.

Whitish, a 5-9 junior guard from Barneveld, Wis., led Nebraska in scoring (12.6 ppg) and assists (4.7 apg) as a sophomore in 2017-18. She owned a 2-to-1 assist-to-turnover ratio as Nebraska's point guard while also ranking among the Big Ten's best three-point shooters. Whitish played a major role in lifting Nebraska to the nation's top turnaround in the win column last season, as the Huskers recorded 14 more victories (21) in 2017-18 than in 2016-17 (7). She captured second-team All-Big Ten accolades at the end of last season while helping Nebraska to the NCAA Tournament.

Whitish was the lone Husker honored by the league in preseason voting of the conference coaches.

The Big Ten Conference does not rank its team's No. 1 through No. 14 in preseason voting, instead the coaches and select media members each choose their projected top-three teams in the league.

Maryland is the preseason pick of the coaches and the media to win the Big Ten, while Iowa was picked No. 2 by both the coaches and media. The league coaches chose Michigan in the No. 3 spot, while the conference media selected Minnesota. Iowa senior center Megan Gustafson, the reigning Big Ten Player of the Year, was chosen by the coaches to repeat that honor. Gustafson, Maryland's Kaila Charles, Michigan's Hallie Thome and Minnesota's Kenisha Bell were all unanimous preseason all-conference selections by the coaches.

Congrats Hannah !!!

Not a surprise at all...she's been the Husker floor leader since her freshman year. All the other teams, and media, saw it too.

And many times the go to scorer that burned other teams in crunch time.

I'm excited to see Hannah get a little help with the ball handling chores.  The addition of Kristian Hudson and "Sam Haiby should take some of the pressure off her. Would not

be surprised to see her offensive production make a nice jump this year.  We will find out soon.  Good luck ladies!
