So this thread got me thinking a little bit about where the Huskers have been starting off their season in recent years, and I thought I'd go back through KenPom's rankings to see.  He didn't keep records of a team's ranking during the course of the season until 2011 so the starting rankings appear (in bold) as n/a until then.  The final season rankings are in parenthesis.

Wow.  Had no idea Doc had us in the top 45 twice.  Our NCAA year under Miles we finished 44th.

Doc's problem was he was never able to leverage early success on the floor into success on the recruiting trail, whereas Tim Miles has.

But, in order to keep that recruiting success going, Miles is going to need to pull a rabbit out of his butt this season.  I mean, I think we'll be good.  And we need to be.
