Not the best highlight video.  Short, not a lot in it.  Best highlight in the vid doesn't involve him.  Misses a lot of close in shots (fouled, but still.)  Can't really tell much about him from this.  Will have to look for other vids.

What Norm said.  Coaches must see something that is not in this highlight video.

The video is from August 2016.

He's now an ESPN four star.

Maybe he's improved since then.

I hope so...because that video was not impressive at all

And, according to Rivals, he also has offers from Iowa State, Missouri, Oklahoma State and Texas A&M.  And he holds a National raking by Rivals of 118.

It's not Russell Barlow's fault, though.  It's a bad video for a number of reasons, not least of which is that they didn't film him for any length of time.

If I had to guess, my guess would be that the AAU coach filmed it and was concentrating on the teammate with the big head of hair, #15.  So, if this kid wound up in any highlights at all, it was just by accident.

That would explain why they only managed enough video of him for 90 seconds of highlights.

(By the way, #15 is Rivals 5-star Gerald Liddell.)

And Future150 lists Russell Barlow as a four-star, with a National Rank of 67.

Hudl has a web page on him (but no video), where he's listed as 6'10" and 235 pounds: that's a couple inches and multiple pounds bigger than he's listed anywhere else.

A bit of a project, but he doesn't need to come in and set the world on fire.  Might be even be able to redshirt.  But I like what I saw and this late would be a very nice pick up.

Barlow is a recruit for the following season, i.e. 2018. And, by the way, Russell is the #7 recruit in the state of Texas. [His teammate Gerald Liddell is the #10 player in the nation]
