Wouldn't exactly call NW the man.    They are just another historically bottom feeder like us.   But they are a direct competitor to break into that middle tier level of the conference.    The worse they are, the easier it is for us

Folks were talking about them being better the next couple years.  Yes they have been bottom feeders for years, but they are trending up.  If we want to be the best, we need to beat everyone.

Got to walk before you run.   I'll focus on being the best when we get to being above mediocre.  I like attainable goals to start.

I'm not sure I would be.  Fred Hoiberg:

-Hates recruiting

-Has a heart condition

-Quite possibly would rather be involved in NBA front office activities than coching...at any level

He seemed to have some pretty darn good players at Iowa State...or did he inherit those guys?

They were mostly transfers, I think.

He had early success with transfers but was bringing in some legit high schoolers too.   I think it was Otzelberger (sp?) that was his big recruiting assistant.

That being said...if they are successful, does it matter how they come?

Are transfers not considered recruits?

I'm just going by what I've read elsewhere.  Apparently not everybody enjoys recruiting - even if they may be good at it...and this would be at least a part of the reason why Hoiberg may never return to the college game under any circumstance.

And that makes sense.

Again, there's a lot of moving parts but with the two games last night the scenarios have slightly changed:

# of Additional Wins in Regular Season:

0: between 11-13 seed

1: between 10-11 seed

2: between 9-10 seed

After tonight's game:

# of Additional Wins in Regular Season:

0: between 11-13 seed

1: NU win/OSU loss (10th), OSU win (11th)
