McIntosh has been struggling with his shot most of the year. The Skinny Northwestern doesn't have a bad loss on the schedule and have been in every game this year. The Wildcats find themselves on a legit path to their first ever NCAA tourney bid and Nebraska on the road represents a game they will be highly motivated to win. Offensively the Wildcats aren't a superior shooting team though they patiently work their way to good looks; McIntosh, Lindsey, and Law take the majority of the shots. On defense, the Wildcats' guard the 3 well and back it up with superior shot blocking ability in the paint. The Huskers should have spent plenty of time working on their FTs as it should be part of their gameplan when attacking. Nebraska will continue to crash the offensive boards, especially since NW won't make you pay as much as other teams. With Isaiah Roby questionable to play you might see some more Jack McVeigh or even Nick Fuller. The lack of size and 3pt shooting bigs for NW means Jordy once again mainly rides the bench. This seems like it should be a low scoring affair that could come down to a couple of key possessions. Give the edge to the home team. Prediction: Nebraska 68 - Northwestern 65 with a 45% chance of Runzas View full article atskooc and throwback
jimmykc
Interesting historical fact of the day: Not only did Northwestern steal Kansas State's color purple, but Willie the Wildcat is also Silo Tech's mascot. For a supposedly urban and sophisticated school, copying K-State doesn't exactly burnish their image much. Both mascots seem to have arisen at approximately the same time and replaced previous ones. Northwestern had a bear cub which was fired when it was felt to become a jinx. Kansas State's was a bobcat which was killed in a fight with a porcupine. throwback
Northwestern's self esteem must've been pretty low to steal from K-State's moribund athletic program. Then again, maybe they figured no one would notice.

In the spirit of mimicking, let's be glad Northwestern was at least a little selective: Silverbacked1
jimmykc
If memory serves me correctly, one of the K-State players once used his "power towel" as a urinal. But that video did get me pumped up- about killing a cat. Silverbacked1

hskr4life
I used to look at the standings and say "oh, their below us in the standings?.... we have to win this one then!" I just realized that with that logic, we'll be going 18-0 this year right now! Good times fellas... good times.
