HUD Posted December 10, 2016 Report Posted December 10, 2016 I've watched most of the games either in person or on TV. On the way home from Lincoln today I was reflecting on our play against San Jose last night. The first half all of our players were in a fog except for Nicea. Bad passes, poor defense and shooting etc. Nicea is the one who consistently plays outside of this fog. She makes good decisions, is tough, knowledgeable of what we are trying to do and has a complete game. Is she perfect? No. but for a 3 star freshman she is already one of the mainstays of our team. Last night in the 2nd half for whatever reason the fog lifted for the rest of the team and we really put it together albeit against an inferior team. Let's hope the fog continues to lift and more sunny days are ahead for us. Actualfacts1 and Red Don 2 Quote
Actualfacts1 Posted December 11, 2016 Report Posted December 11, 2016 Nicea gets caught in that fog on occasion too lol. But it's definitely nice to see that she's playing so consistently on both ends of the floor. Her basketball IQ is actually really high. It was very frustrating at times when she played high school ball bc her teammates just didn't have the skill to see the game like she did. So it's nice that she's playing with girls who are on her level. She anticipates plays freaky well - weather it's for a steal; or making an assist. I've been talking to her alot and I've really been telling her be more aggressive on offense. She tends to over-pass and become complacent with the ball at times. She's very humble and doesn't realize how good she can be. If we can get Allie, Jasmine and/or Nicea to average double figures with Jess we could win some games. That and cut down on turnovers!!Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N920A using Tapatalk Red Don and mwm89 2 Quote
Red Don Posted December 11, 2016 Report Posted December 11, 2016 Nice Post. Nicea has really earned her minutes and starts. I'm pretty pleased with all the newcomers this year. We'll get more than our share of 'bumpy road' with the brutal schedule ahead but I'm eager to see the team gel & develop. Actualfacts1 1 Quote
