Who said that Horne would be "that three point shooter we are missing"?  I don't recall that.

I said he might be or could be one of our zone busters in my little tiff with Hoops_ after that one game.  So maybe it was me.

Still think he could be, maybe not, needs to get better at D though or he won't see much of the floor I think.

Not necessarily a three point specialist as I think most see him as more than that eventually. But he came in as someone that was known as a shooter in high school. In limited action he has struggled on that end but obviously it's defense that has him on the bench.  I just don't think it's wise to bank on a freshman.  We have seen the struggles Roby and Horne have gone thru early on. No banking on Nana will be that three point specialist we are missing. But we can bring it up again when he's actually on campus.

Yeah.. I thought Horne was a dark horse to contribute.  I think Roby has done fine so far (and will likely be starting), and so has Jordy (who should be starting already).  They both look right on track to me as conference play approaches.  I expect no different from Nana next season, especially given how we don't really have a true 2 on this roster, and certainly don't have a designated three point specialist.

Before today, Tim Miles had been adding some "incredible moral victories" to the Tournament resume...

Now, Nebraska has almost completed the nonconference portion of their schedule and they have a losing record. They just lost to a 5-loss Gardner-Webb team at home. There is a very real chance that this team could finish the season with their 3rd consecutive sub-.500 record.

This was Gardner-Webb. At home. People can't hide behind the SOS excuses and the moral victories on this one.

It is laughable to me that anyone could watch that game today and still try to make the argument that this is a well-coached basketball team.

Perhaps even worse is that very bad losses like this have become an annual occurrence for this program under Tim Miles.

And it was an absolutely ridiculous move for Tim Miles to take Glynn Watson out of the starting lineup.

But yeah, it's probably "B.S." to question the direction/progress of this program right now...

10 wins or less this year...and it's hard to keep him. Unfortunately the roster would most likely blow up and we would be starting from scratch again.

If it blows up, it blows up.   Real hard to find any reason to believe that Miles is going to get that roster to gel anyways

10 wins? Beating the likes of Penn St and Rutgers(maybe)...should not give us warm and fuzzies. Not sure if there is a set number but Miles is definitely in trouble IMO.

I know Miles and staff are getting paid, and the job just isn't getting done these last couple years, but, at some point, our players have got to man up and play some basketball. Guys like Jacobson getting consistently stripped of the ball after all the offseason weight training gains is unacceptable. These guys have played countless games and have 24/7 access to facilities that are equal or better than almost any college or pro team, yet they can't throw the ball in the ocean.

The players were asked to come here by the staff that is getting paid to bring in talent that can compete at this level. I'd look at the coaches' talent evaluation, motivation, player development and  in-game strategy before I'd point the finger at players who don't "man up"?

I can agree with you on in-game strategy. At some point though, some of those other things are the players' responsibilities as well. I believe we have good talent, but maybe not the best combinations in spots needed to turn the corner as a team.

if the people that are saying we can get altman or marshall are right, then eichorst has my blessing.

I don't think those people are right though.

would rather just see what miles can do when watson and morrow are seniors.

too much young talent to just give up on miles now.
