As of right now, ET has gotten the most minutes off the bench. Which I know has got to be a surprise to everyone, especially if you're like me and thought he'd basically have a Nick Fuller type of role this season.

ET was an extremely good pick up considering the circumstances and the timing. Cudos to the coaching staff.

Not everyone. ;)

Boy it seemed to me that part of the reason he was out there was specifically help us against the pressure that LA Tech was putting on. Thus far he's seemed to grasp the importance of ball control since that 6 turnover Chadron St debut.

I was shooting on Saturday, so it was tough to get a good read on that. I'll have to go back and watch for it.

49r, that's a cool graphic.  Is that a Kenpom thing?  It should be an interesting thing to look at about 7 games into the season when the numbers are no longer distorted by the game against UMary where Miles was deliberately trying to get the new guys in as much as possible.  Right now, the numbers are off a bit, obviously.  But once we settle into the season a bit, that's going to be an interesting thing to come back and take a look at.

How about after 6 games?

I really hope that McVeigh and Gill can become "heat check" players--ones that we give a green light to when they are in, and pull them if they aren't having a good shooting night.

Roby >> McVeigh if McVeigh can't shoot.

Turner >> Gill if Gill can't shoot.

Jordy occasionally >> Jacobson if Jacobson can't shoot or rebound.

I love Horne's potential at the 3, but he needs to lose weight in order to guard someone.

I think Tai, Glynn, and Morrow are clearly the ones who should continue to receive big minutes.

At 6'7" and 222#  I'm not sure losing weight would be tremendously healthy...

They said he dropped 25 this summer after he found out White had left the team so he could play more than one spot.

The freshman 3 are just in high school speed now, we have played some good teams early and it hasn't allowed them to make the mistakes that they could or will against less teams. i.e... vs Mary.

We need scoring.  Not an 11 man rotation.

Better find your best 7-8 guys and go for it.  This stuff of mixing in guys like Fuller or Taylor is not useful.

We we really don't have time for McVeigh or Gill to "get a groove" back.  We play our best opponents of non con in the next 2 weeks.  If they can't score, then we can't play them.  Let's find the guys who can, which requires more minutes for Roby and Horne,

And if Horne and Roby can't score?

Then we're down to a 5- or 6-man rotation.

What's limiting their minutes right now is mainly defensive mistakes.  Hoops L. (as with many fans), seems to base everything on scoring.  But when a player gives up a bucket the second they check into a game due to poor defense, it's hard for a coach to give them major minutes until they quit making the mistakes.

Oh, I get it.  No worries.

You're right in that Legend is putting the priority on scoring above all else.  If he's benching McVeigh and Gill for Roby and Horne, then what happens if those two don't score either (entirely possible)?  He seems to think Roby and Horne are guaranteed to score more than McVeigh and Gill.  I'm just saying that's not necessarily the case.  You can't simply bench all the guys who don't score.

Move the weight around more than lose it, I think. I need to do that too, actually.

Yeah that might be better.  If we're going to have Horne at the 3, he's going to need more quickness defensively.  He's a tweener right now, but I love his game.  He just needs a little more conditioning, whatever that might mean for his body type.

I agree he can get in better shape and think he will as he has made a big jump already. However I think his main issue now is just thinking too much. I think athletically he could guard better than he is but he seems to get lost a lot and that will improve fairly quickly I would hope.

Think he will be a much bigger contributor by second half of the season. He is just one of those guys that everytime he shoots it looks like it will go in and we need that.

Who the heck are you going to put on the floor that can score right now? The three guys putting the ball in the basket are playing the major minutes and do need a rest from time to time.

Right now, Jack is #10 in the nation in fouls committed per 40 minutes.  Averaging just 1 per 40.  If you're wondering why he's getting so much PT, that's probably a big reason.  Well that and the fact he is our only legit 3 point threat right now.

Ed is #49 in Offensive rebounds.

Glynn is #35 in steals and #95 in FT%.

This basically puts into a nice little graph what we seeing: Our starting 5 plays the most minutes together and the majority of the rest is us trying to find the tweaks in changing one starter either because of foul trouble, replace a player who has been struggling, and/or find a lineup that works together.

This is only the top 10 lineups but Jordy being on the court without Ed or MJ is the most interesting thing here as I didn't expect it.

I've been noticing that during games, and it's driving me nuts.  We could absolutely dominate the paint with Jordy and either Ed or MJ in at the 4.  If we aren't shooting well, we can definitely beat people up.
