When you search him you get more football links than basketball.  It makes me wonder if he is reconsidering and is under the radar because of it.  He appears legit as a hoops recruit by videos I saw, and if he is wanted for football should have the body and mentality to bang down low.  Football profiles list him at 6'8" and 240... basketball profiles at 6'9" naturally.

 

I'm eager for some more info.

Not disputing MandRHusker, but I am trying to get some confirmation and additional info. All I know as of last Friday is that a 2017 big man was supposed to visit and a commitment was anticipated. Pitts was supposed to be the guy. 

 

From what I have been able to gather, Pitts is more of a complementary player than a starter.

seems like everyone is ignoring that he just committed to UTSA 2 days ago. i don't think he's coming here.

I missed that earlier.  How accurate is that?  I saw he committed and then decommited to UTSA in July.  Also, his twitter account doesn't say anything about committing. He's active enough where he sure wouldn't slow play something like that. https://twitter.com/jpitts165

However, news reports indicate he clearly backed out of his commitment in August when he started to receive basketball offers. Other than a 247sports update indicating Pitts had recommitted to UTSA football on October 22, I have found little. Kind of odd overall.

also noticed UTSA offered him in both basketball and football, so not sure what sport he was looking to play. it seems like he has way more basketball offers than football.

Ok.  So let me get this straight:

1.  A tweet says "Nebraska" visited this guy.

2.  There have been a couple erroneous reports that, (i) he visited the football game (my error), and (ii) he might have been going to commit on the visit he didn't make (someone else's error); and

3.  We can find no other connection anywhere, so far, between this player and Nebrasketball.

 

Hmmmm.  That's got to be worth at least two full pages of discussion.  Something might turn up with him down the road.

Forgot all about this guy when he actually made it to Nebraska back in 2018 as part of the Cal St Fullerton team. He didn't log a minute against us and has had a pretty lackluster career.
