2017-18 Husker opponents

Recommended Posts

Not a great night for the big boys - Top 5 Florida just lost to Loyola-Chicago;  KU trails Washington by 2 at half (ESPN2) - first time KU has been behind at halftime this season

Illinois still scuffling with A Peay with 6 min to go

Throw in Ball State beating  Top 10 Notre Dame last night - with finals coming up and holidays, big favorites don't always have good focus this time of the year.

U-Dub by 10 with 3 to play - they have completely flustered KU with an extended 2-3 zone that's preventing 3-pt shots - they're letting KU have the ball in the lane, but they can't score in there

Hope we have a sharp zone defense ready to use for the next 2 Saturdays

North Texas beat Indiana State.  NT is now 5-5 while Indiana State is 3-5.  That loss for Indiana is looking worse and worse.

Eastwrn Illinois blew a 12 point lead and lost @Greenbay.

Long Beach State was up 3 with 2.5 minuteseft and lost as well to Southern Utah.

Jayhawks come back to earth. We would be foolish to not attempt the same plan as Washington defensively until KU finds some sort of better response. If we play with the same intensity as against Minnesota this could be a winnable game. However, Self will also anticipate this and may well use Washington game as motivation for his team to turn up their intensity on the road. We'll see.

You're talking about running Boeheim's 2-3 defense that his former assistant and player Mike Hopkins has been exposed to for the last 25+ years.

looked to me like Sprint Center was maybe 50% full last night and the crowd was pretty checked out

Maybe what we need is to have a half-empty PBA and those that do show up keep quiet and see if we can't lull them to sleep.

In other words.... play at the Devaney Center, then.

;)

You can catch Bakari Evelyn and Valpo take on Purdue tomorrow night. Hes averaging 11.5pts/3reb/4asst/1stl with solid shooting percentages.

Valpo scored 16 points in the first half.  Bakari had 0 points and 4 TO's in the first half.

Currently 41-20 early in the second half.  Wasted opportunity for the Crusaders so far in their first true test of the season.
