B-town hoopsfan 491
Had 21 today on 11 shots. I don’t so much watch him anymore because Im bummed we missed out on him. I watch him because he’s a good player the recruiting services weren’t high on that miles identified. Really think we got 3 of those kinda guys in this class and we got 1 last year in heiman. BmoreRed 87
Can we all not talk about it? Since we're all looking him up, let's just not talk about it. He is really good. Probably NBA good kldm64

hhcmatt 13,360
woah! The question is what does the PG position look like for Indiana as Kenya Hunter was the reason he almost went here. Otherwise the familiarity with Nebraska and the potential for playing time here have to be at least appealing. thrasher31

hhcmatt 13,360
Assuming that going to an established winning program isn't what Xavier Johnson is looking for, he seems like exactly like the guy we're looking for and the type of guy we might target. Pitt wasn't exactly running a high speed offense so if that is what Johnson is looking for he actually might come here. Here is a writeup about from Pitt Rivals about this. https://pittsburgh.rivals.com/news/johnson-leaves-pitt-
hhcmatt 13,360
https://pittsburgh.forums.rivals.com/threads/xavier-johnson-transferring.186995/ Seems like Capel and Johnson weren't seeing eye to eye to the point where Johnson is unhappy enough to leave before the end of the season. This is exactly the sort of dude we recruit here.

Silverbacked1 4,419
If you go to a Pitt web site they are happy to see him go. He was a bad point, uncoachable and not a team player. So we have that going for us. Minnesota_Husker
Chuck Taylor 825
I thought one of the reasons Trey left Pitt was because they didn't play together well. Anybody else recall that? colhusker and OmahaHusker

Swan88 1,441
This is from a March 19, 2020, article in The Pitt News: Some have cited homesickness, poor team chemistry or the emergence of primary scorers like Xavier Johnson and Justin Champagnie as reasons for McGowens’ departure. He ominously voiced his frustrations after Pitt’s final loss to NC State in the ACC Tournament, commenting that Pitt succeeded earlier in the season when “nobody had their own personal agendas” and “everybody was just together and just cared about winning.” Whatever the case, McGowens was ultimately a poor fit with Johnson in the backcourt. Neither complemented the other, with both profiling as shooting-averse slashers. With Capel failing to surround the duo with capable shooters to provide greater spacing over the past two seasons, it became increasingly apparent that one would have to go. LK1 1,677
I don't think we need another iso guy, though it would be nice to have a true PG who is a freak athlete. We already probably have too many slashers. We need shooters.
hhcmatt 13,360
This is via a Pittsburgh based sports site. The video itself is a bit drawn out. I'd boil it down to this guy talking to someone from the camp of the players who thinks Capel needs to get a better handle on his program. The other somewhat expected nugget is the mutual interest between Johnson and Indiana because of Kenya Hunter. thrasher31
