Apparently at least one national writer had not heard that the state of Nebraska follows the round ball...

It makes total sense.  When football isn't in season, a portion of the Memorial stadium sellout crowds who are from Omaha attend  Creighton basketball games and the ones from Lincoln watch the Husker hoopsters at PBA.

It's like the migration of Sandhills Cranes.  Next fall, our fine feathered friends from Omaha will be back to wearing red and migrating to Lincoln on Saturdays.

A lot of Omaha residents only go to Husker hoops.... me included. :)

You might be surprised at the traffic I run into heading up to the PBA from Kansas City for hoops games, too.

Nebraska 4th overall in average attendance in the Big Ten: ***1st when considering attendance related to arena capacity (101.87%)***

101.87%.  Yeah, right.  I don't care about tickets sold.  I care about butts in seats.  Nebraska does a comparatively good job of reporting both numbers compared to other schools.  But the last few years, the A.D.  - for whatever reason - fail to report actual attendance for 3 or 4 games each season.

Again, they do a much better reporting actuals than our friends 50 miles up I-80.   But they could do better.  Off my soap box now...

Any chance PBA will expand since it's over capacity?

I would imagine the wait list for season tickets would need to reach a certain point (say 1,500 or 2,000) and stay there consistently for them to even start thinking about that.  The better bet is on ticket prices going up.

... the third straight year the Huskers averaged over 15,000 fans per game at Pinnacle Bank Arena.  NU also set a single-season record in total attendance with 277,739 fans, breaking the record of 249,101 set in 2014-15.

Nebraska is one of only nine schools nationally – and one of three Big Ten schools – to average at least 15,000 fans in each of the last three seasons.

The Big Ten led the nation in attendance for the 40th straight season...

I don't know many people who have NU season football tickets and CU basketball tickets. Maybe since I don't go to the football games I don't see that sort of thing, I know plenty of people that have tickets to both the basketball teams (myself included). A lot of the younger NU students who went to high school in Omaha come from families that support CU athletics and they go on to support both basketball programs, as I think they should.

We are also the only team to be below .500 and also not play in the post season.

So what does that say about us? smiley face

How much does the lack of attendance for the non conference games impact this number if any.  There were lots of empty seats for most of the nonconference games...both regular people and students. or is this all based on ticket sales which are meaningless when it come to fans actually attending the games.  They brag about sell outs on tickets, yet you can easily move from the 200-300 down to the 100 level for most of those non conference games. It's not like football where they will do whatever it takes to put butts in every seat. Will be nice if basketball gets to a point where when they say sellout...they mean sellout.

oh FFS, Nebraska is not unique in the way they handle this.  If you think that attendance at other sold out venues like Maryland or Michigan State is always 100%, or anywhere close to it for crappy non conference games you're out of your ever-lovin' mind.  Would it be nice if we could have it like "no sit Sunday" for every single game, even Sanford?  Sure.  Is it realistic to expect it???  Hell no.
