The Cincinnati and Miami games are scary right now--we could get blown out in each,  Both of those teams are playing exceedingly well and are definitely prime time opponents.  Not sure we are ready for prime time just yet.

We have a chance in each of the rest of the games.  So, I'm saying 3-3.

I think we'll see them play well at home in big games this year.

And I would say there is one sure win and one sure loss in the group. The rest can all go either way from what I have seen. Perhaps HB would feel better if he had an avatar. Would you like a used Walter?

Jimmy, after last year, we have a rule on this Board:  No Walter avatars under any circumstances!

Las Vegas would have us as an underdog in 4 of those games I'd guess - so 3-3 would be a pretty good go. 4-2 would be excellent in that tough stretch.

It will be interesting to see how NU/Cincy/GW/Ten handle the expected sparse crowds/odd atmosphere this weekend. I don't have any numbers to back this up, but it seems like these low attendance neutral site games around the holidays seem to have a higher than normal percentage of point spread upsets. Maybe playing in front of 124 people in Spain this summer will give us an advantage?  :D

I say 4-2 and a better shot at 5-1 than I thought we would have!

If we go 5-1 through that stretch, then we'd be dancing material this year.  Not any of that "next year with a big" stuff.  Unfortunately, I don't think that's very likely.  I would be thrilled with 4-2, but I'd take 3-3.  Be a little disappointed at 2-4, but this is a young team that's still feeling its way around a bit.

But 5-1?  That would be impressive enough that if we did it during that stretch, we'd be getting votes in both polls.  And that should tell you how much of a longshot it is.

KenPom likes us to go 1-5 in case anyone needs something bitter to balance out that sweet tooth we've developed

RPI Forecast has us going 2-3 (they don't include the second game in Brooklyn)

Also, FWIW, they have us finishing 7th in the B1G with 16 or 17 wins total.

The ranking services based most of their pre-season rankings of us on how we did last year and what we had coming back.

To them, losing Terran Petteway meant we lost a volume scorer who, while not terribly efficient, took a significant share of our shots.  They also didn't think Shavon Shields was very efficient offensively because of the slump that consumed him last season.

They didn't give us much credit for the fact that we had Andrew White coming on board, nor did they give us much credit for the every-bit-as-good-as-expected/advertised recruiting class we brought in.

Our ranking now -- and the rankings of the teams we will be playing -- is heavily influenced by what they thought of us, and them, coming into the season.  A team in the 130s should be able to beat teams in the 300s at home.  So our wins don't mean much to them.

Personally, I think we're a lot better than they think we are.  That's because I know a lot more about our players than their computers do.  So, when the computers say they don't think we're going to win but 1 or 2 of our next six games, I have to take that with a grain of salt.
