  • Talked about Benny's struggles for the season
  • Talked about Benny and Tai needing to be aggressive/successful
  • They have a good idea what they're going to do with Ed, Jack, and Watson
  • Trying to figure out where/if Fuller/Evelyn/Jacobson fit in
  • Miles talks about the need for more physicality, not Jack or Shavon at PF, soon. Jacobson needs more reps/practice
  • Miles doesn't want to reign in Watson...he wants him to create though not just for himself. "A creator creates for himself and others....when he's just hunting shots, that's when we have a talk. If he's aggressive and just makes a mistake I don't say much."
  • Talked about how quickly McVeigh picks up plays, his skill set, his attitude. They need to work on his agility and his running, which is something our staff can do with weights, training, and Valentino's pizza. Liked what he saw from McVeigh in the U19 games in terms of passing, finding teammates.
  • Talked in length about Tai coming to the US
  • Miles went over the reasons why the 3pt shot has to be part of our arsenal and why he thinks we will be successful. Likes the shot selections so far.
  • Part of the starters playing minimal minutes on Sunday was to keep everyone fresh for the 4 games this week
  • White has been doing well and will need to adjust once people start targeting him on defense. We'll be alright as long as the rest of the team picks up the slack on those nights he doesn't get a ton of shots

Really have been impressed with McVeigh - I was trying not to get my expectations too high with him, just knowing how tough the adjustment would be, on and off the court. But he has been really solid.

Doesn't necessarily look like a great athlete out there, but really knows his strengths and weaknesses and has very good body control, which allows him to be successful.

Maybe his most impressive play for me so far was one where he didn't even score - when he took the exaggerated fade away at end of shot clock in 2nd half Sunday, very smart play, knowing by who was guarding him that that was the only way to get the ball up on the rim and at least have a chance at it going in or an offensive rebound. Not too many freshmen would have gotten the ball on the rim on that play. Actually most freshmen probably would've had Adidas imprinted on their foreheads after the blocked shot or would've just panicked and held the ball as the clock expired.

Really looking forward to see what he can do as he becomes more comfortable here and puts on some good weight, etc.
