Big Ten - Big East Challenge Scoreboard

Recommended Posts

Tuesday

4 pm – DePaul at Penn St – ESPNU

7:30 pm – Nebraska at Villanova – Fox Sports 1

8 pm – Georgetown at Maryland – ESPN2

Wednesday

6 pm – Illinois at Providence – Fox Sports 1

Thursday

6 pm – Creighton at Indiana – BTN

6 pm – Rutgers at St. John's – Fox Sports 1

8 pm – Iowa at Marquette – Fox Sports 1

Friday

8 pm – Xavier at Michigan – BTN

Looks pretty evenly matched to me - I'd predict a 5-3 edge for the B1G, as I think one of the B1G teams will steal one on the road, and am thinking all 4 B1G home teams win.

I don't think Penn St. beats DePaul

PSU 31 DePaul 25 - halftime

Looks about like what you'd expect - 2 teams that'll be near the bottom of their leagues struggling thru an ugly mid-November game.

PSU doing a lot of defensive switching from zone to man, shown 1-3-1, 2-3. Seems to be working well ... or DePaul is horrible. Probably a combo.

PSU loves to shoot 3s thus far, they just don't seem to love making very many of them.

B1G 2, BEast 1

Tuesday

  • Penn St 68, DePaul 62
  • Villanova 87, Nebraska 63
  • Maryland 75, Georgetown 71

Only got to see the last few minutes of MD-Gtown, so I'm not sure how the Terps were down by 5 with 5 to go, but Maryland looked tremendous down the stretch. Just a hunch, but I'd say they're pretty good.  ;) And that Trimble kid ain't bad either.

Not that it's all that surprising, but Big Ten has clearly been better this 'series' - BEast lucky that it isn't 6-1

B1G leads 4-3

At 17:43 to go in the first half of the Iowa - Marquette game, Iowa led 7-2.

By 5:42 in the first half, Iowa led 36-13.

After that point in time, this game was more or less even, despite Marquette seemingly playing less than mediocre, missing layups and free throws, etc.

This game so far really comes down to that one run that happened in about 12 minutes. Outside of that, that game wasn't nearly as one sided as it seems from the scoreboard.

Sounds like Iowa took their foot off the gas. I think Indiana did the same thing.

No starters played over 30 and some barely cracked 20
