bball23
This is simply a way to get his name out which allows you to play overseas as well. I have always thought Walt's game would do well overseas.

huskerbaseball13
Maybe he was looking to start a new business in Europe? Or perhaps the bar scene in Europe is much better than Lincoln?
Silverbacked1
Okay I think I just saw a flying pig following a unicorn with rainbows coming out of it's backside. WOW, guess I ain't sad no more, kind of hurt and confussed.

He would have been golden in the NCAA had he done that this past summer, or even this coming summer. I can see a guy like Walt making a living in Europe. But if that's the case then what was all this hoopla about moving on into the exciting field of business...

I feel the competition in the post is a bit different over there than the NBA or even the NCAA, hence the comment made & I also suspect his coaches over there will still want him to develop any type of manageable post game (however simple it may be). So, whether he does or not isn't really the point... he COULD be golden, maybe that's a better way to phrase it!
Norm Peterson
Soooo ... I guess I'm now back to calling him a quitter. So much for that "mature" decision. It's such a shame because of what could have been. Walt is decently athletic for guy that tall (I know some would disagree with that). He has decent shooting touch. He just needs a more aggressive mindset on the basketball court. He doesn't have the fire in his belly. And no amount of working on his skills or his mechanics or lifting weights will change the fact that, at the end of the day, Walt is a wuss. ladyhusker, jaimes2000 and KarlHessEatMy.... 1

Norm Peterson
This poor guy seems pretty lost. He's just not emotionally very mature. Go back to his tweets after the NCAA tourney last year. He lashed out at his team after the NCAA tourney exit. And he hasn't acted terribly committed to the team ever since. Passive-aggressive little brat. This might seem harsh to say but I'm going by what people who know more than I would have told me and using that as the filter for my observations. I was hoping to get to 15,000 before you got to 100, but alas I couldn't think of enough worthless things to say.

There were a couple times in the 13-14 season where he showed good aggression, specifically at Indiana. He played tough in and out. It's too bad he couldn't channel that more often. huskerball0741 and Neebraska

But, I think this was best for the NU program.

Popular Post bball23
I must say I'm a bit disappointed in our own FAN calling this guy out. Yes, he is leaving NU. I get it, we are sad to see him go. But to call this guy out for now wanting to pursue his dreams? I mean c'mon people. None of you have EVER changed your minds? Hell, I see it from one post to another. So are we to judge all of you as well? I for one hope like heck Walt has a great career somewhere whether its basketball or in the business world. Sure, I could have sour apples towards the guy leaving for the team I love, but none of us know a damn thing about what goes on behind closed doors. Have any of you ever quit a job and then ended up at another company in the same field because you maybe didn't like the people you were surrounded with at the first job? If so, shame on you! How could you "quit" on them and then go work at another place like that! Lets be a bit classier with our post here. Or, if your life is that miserable that you have to put others down to make yourselves feel better, than go right ahead. Norm Peterson
"He has 14 hours remaining and is on track to receive his degree in ethnic studies in December." Guess that explains why he didn't take the graduate transfer option.

If he would of said this from the very beginning fine, but don't give the hogwash that you want to focus on school and your heart isn't into basketball one day and then complete 360 and say basketball is life the next.
