  1. I put this under its own title; but Matt can move it under our huskers in the pro's thread if he wishes. This is interesting on a few issues: * He still doesn't know his ceiling * He still loves his huskers * His current major weakness * His strength as a 3-point shooter * What didn't factor into his decision to become a husker * The dilemma in deciding on retaining him or letting him go Man, it would have been sweet having him that first year under Fred...but I wonder now if that would have helped or hurt his pro career path? Enjoy the article. https://thunderousintentions.com/2022/05/10/isaiah-roby-doesnt-know-ceiling/amp/
  2. No, this isn't a 9-man rotation that gets you your first NCAA tournament team, but they were the last 9 guys to do something on our team, which is really sad considering that 4 of them were Doc's recruits. This right here is one of our biggest issues. So, what did these 9 guys do that no one else has since (unless I am overlooking someone)? Here's a hint: It is one of the main reasons, IMO, that we are in this sad state as a program.
  3. Starting tonight for OKC. Fox Sports Midwest for those inclined. Had 7 points and 2 boards 6 minutes in.
  4. The Mavericks ink Isaiah Roby, the 45th pick in the 2019 NBA Draft to a four-year $6.7M contract. View full article
  5. I can't find it now but I guess Roby's Mom and Grandma got yelled at then had hands on them from some Wisconsin fan after the game Friday!?
  6. Copeland , Glynn , Tanner, and Palmer are all gone. He would be the only returning senior. We all know Isaiah has aspirations to play in the NBA. It seems that the majority of those drafted these days are freshmen or sophomores. Looking at his future from Isaiah’s possible perspective , does coming back for his senior year improve his chances in the nba draft? It seems nearly a done deal that there will be a new coach in Nebraska. New coach and a new system. It seems to me that with the big three seniors leaving and tanner as well that there will be less overall talent next year on the floor for the huskers than this year. Could be a long season. Would a losing season hurt his chances of making the nba? Isaiah would likely be playing the 5 spot again for the huskers quite a bit of the time , not his natural position. He would seemingly be the featured scorer which could be good for him as he doesn’t seem to have ever allowed himself to step into that roll. I’m not sure he is capable of that roll. He had so many opportunities after Copeland went down to step up and score and did not do it most of the time. Was it because it’s not the kind of player he is? Did he lack confidence? Was he too unselfish? Was he just not capable of stepping up and becoming a consistent scorer? Is he capable of making it in the nba or was this his audition down the stretch this season in the big ten and he did not pass the test? He has big games from time to time and he does amazing things from time to time. Will coming back help or hurt him? Has he showed enough? ESPNs mock NBA draft online had him at 32 this past week even after the disappointing slide of the Huskers this season and Isaiah’s ups and downs. What do you think ?
  7. As some think the sky is falling w the loss take solice in this, roby will be back for his senior year. He’s still a good player but he’s made no strides from last year that I can tell. Take a look at tonight. Had basically no impact in 35+ minutes vs decent(not pro) bigs from Texas tech. So while the loss sucks atleast we will get a year and a half of mr roby
  8. If you take away the Wisconsin road game where he only played 17 minutes with foul trouble, here are Isaiah Roby's last 6 games: vs Iowa: 30 mins, 17 pts, 8 reb, 3 blocks, 2 assists, 1 TO @ Minn: 34 mins, 21 pts, 8 reb, 5 blocks, 2 assists, 1 TO vs Rutg: 27 mins, 10 pts, 11 reb, 2 blocks, 2 assists, 1 TO vs Mary: 32 mins, 11 pts, 10 reb, 3 blocks, 1 assist, 1 TO @ Illinois: 32 mins, 14 pts, 10 reb, 3 blocks, 2 assists, 3 TO vs Ind: 35 mins, 11 pts, 9 reb, 1 block, 2 assists, 2 TO For an average of: 31.7 MPG, 14.0 PPG, 9.3 RPG, 2.8 BPG, 1.8 APG, 1.5 TPG ...that'll play.
  9. Yeah lame I know, but damn I stayed up to see if he did... that was one pretty dunk! I hate ESPN!
  10. But I am starting to think he is our most important player going forward! It is time he become a permanent starter. And I don't think he should give up on dunking, he did get 3 trips to the line on missed dunks.
  11. This kid is doing some great things in his 19 minutes per game. Here is his team rankings: 6th in Points per game (which would increase with more minutes played) 2nd in Rebounds 5th in Assists 1st in Blocks 1st in Field Goal Percentage 6th in Free Throw Percentage
  12. This notion was raised in the post-game chatter and I agree. Whether Jordy has regressed or still hurt, he has become a liability on the court. He still brings the ball down when it's kicked inside or worse yet tries to put it on the floor. Yes it's nice to have the "spark" that Roby brings when coming off the bench, but he's too versatile and too talented to not be more of a factor. Will this cure all of our ills. No, but it's a start. And as someone else also mentioned, we're only going to go as far as Glynn Watson takes us.
  13. Can someone explain to me how he got called for the foul there. He wasn't even part of that play.
  14. Supposedly he didn't play much last night due to a hip pointer. I'm curious if anyone knows anything more.
  15. Unforunate, but hopefully resting it will fix it and it sounds like he should be healthy and ready to go for the first game.
  16. I thought that since Roby is signed, I would place this in a new thread here. This is worth a view. First, there are a number of photos that are pretty cool. More importantly is the article that provides some good insight as to what we can expect over the next few years. I like this kid. Enjoy. http://www.saukvalley.com/2016/03/18/humble-roby-hungry-for-challenge-of-next-level/ach0fih/
