  2. Geeze, you had to hunt for a post well over a year ago ? Sure, we all thought it was done a year or so ago. And... but, but, but... now it's not done, wouldn't you say?. Starting all over again, and this time there's a full blown law suit against the head coach, Alberts, and ex-coach Love. Regents.....The news cycle begins again. I don't really care how it ends up this time or even before. Out of my control, or anyone else on this forum, for sure. Just fodder for the forum. It is what it is.
  3. If I remember correctly....help me out......everything went silent after the thing was first exposed. Like someone mentioned, the team was visibly shaken the next game. He didn't leave right away and was on leave so to speak, for about 6 months...I think anyway..... but Scoggins did leave fairly quickly. So if the coach and some administrators, all knew about it ....why was it kind of kept under wraps. That's usually the last thing a school wants. ...to be perceived as hiding something. It's pretty tough to keep it quiet now. And I still say it won't go to trial. Pay off before that happens. UNL won't keep it in the news any longer than they can.
  4. Is this new law suit ? Not a surprise for sure. But she's carpet bombing NU to be sure to get money, and wouldn't be to surprised if NU makes an offer to Scoggin. That's how most schools handle it.
  5. Because of the addition of guards coming in, we still need a big recruit or transfer, that can control the lane like Markowski. When she graduates, it's going to be a whole new ball game for this team........like any team that has to replace a force in the middle.
  6. Would keep current freshman Logan Nissley, as well as Potts (at the 4), in this discussion of the guard spot. Nissley's really come of age in the college game. Playing right up there as one of the team leaders, and now is making a big difference in this current team. It's a huge jump from HS. So the new recruits will take some time to get used to the speed, schemes, and higher caliber overall athleticism of college. Of course.... hope Britt and other recruits adapt quickly, just like Potts and Nissely. We lose a lot of talent in the next two years.
  7. One of the more unusual things seen in a while... Markowski's foul out...ejection...(wasn't privilege to the ref's conversation's of course) ...what ever you want to call it, was an unfortunate and weird deal all the way around, and an accident obviously. But by the letter of the law (rule) she was going to get ejected. It just so happened it was her 5th foul too. The Purdue player was simply in the wrong place at the wrong time. But took it like a champ. Sort of.... Highlight of game like everyone else said....Markowski's 20 points and 21 rebounds. May not see that again in a long time. The entire Purdue team had 26 rebounds.
  8. We should be OK. Markowski has or is close, to a double-double already. Controlling the middle as they say. Really like Nissey on the open court. Great BBall IQ. Pertrie is getting up to college ball speed...just needs a little more on the court time. Call the fouls ref...and we keep up the shooting percentages, and all will be good. Purdue isn't real skilled. Trying be competitive by beating the other team up a bit.
  9. There's a lot of pushing, shoving and grabbling by Purdue going on. Markowski was just talking to the official at the time out.

  11. Here's a YouTube of the game if you didn't get to see the game
  12. Right. Yes, Iowa will be much different when she leaves Iowa. She's making good $$ where she sits with all the NIL, commercials, etc, so would have to get bigger bucks by going WNBA. She can't get much more hyped...can she?
  13. 30 turnovers. Yikes ! Is that some kind of ugly record ?. I think I read it turned into over 20 points for OSU. All the turnovers kept us from scoring in the half court. Like everyone else....thought we could handle it better Maybe a hangover from the Iowa game, (OSU coach intimated it could be a factor) ....but must move on to the next 4 that are big for getting us to the NCAA's. Have our destiny so to speak, cut out for us.
  14. Trivia at this point: Ok it's weirdo stuff.....but I put my phone's stop watch on and timed the replay, of the inbounds play. It was over 5 seconds. They got a basket because of it. What if they won by a point ? We would have the short end of the stick, by a missed call that apparently is not reviewable. Lots of what if's, that in the end.... that doesn't matter after all. I've watched the last 2 or 3 minute replays several times..... Still exciting and unforgettable.
  15. On the road at OSU makes it tough even without the big win over Iowa euphoria. Yes, this makes sense HUD. These last 5 games are huge....simply huge. The best position we've been in years, going into the tournament's
  16. Interesting stuff,,,lots of good observations Thanks Bugs
  17. Thanks Tom, Yes, that's what it was. Just to stimulate thought and discussion. Doesn't take a genius to figure it out. Just a little open-mindedness.
  18. That one went over your head too.
  19. To much noise shooting free throws? Right or wrong ........it happens even in high school let alone college. The students have done it as long as I can remember. ......Kid stuff. Said early in the season....this group had the potential to be very good. Just been a little struggle to find the 5th starter that could score. Nissley L seems to fit the bill. Some of her shots yesterday were critical to the win. High IQ player obviously along with a wicked eye for the basket. Late in the game I thought it almost looked like a box and one on the defense. And find out later it was intentional. My question .......So whose idea was that ?
  20. Ok, I will 2nd that.........Logan N. should be starting. She's not playing like a freshman anymore.
  21. Actually I think yes. (I said that watching the game. It looked like that was the plan.) Clark seemed to be holding back...not throwing up the mid court screaming shots. Blubber said this week, just that possibility ......that it would be nice to break the record in Iowa. But it backfired...in the fourth especially. We took the game away from them. Great game by our side. Our guard scoring was a huge difference. Not just Alexis and Jazz doing all the scoring. Team win. Even thought Mariority (and The other Kendall)... were not the big scorers, ...but their defense on Clark did bother Clark. Markowski was in control of the middle. She kept them from scoring a lot in the paint...we did just the opposite, scored well in the paint. A our freshmen were outstanding And...Williams job is safe for another few years. :)
  22. YEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! MADE MY DAY....WEEK....YEAR.... ***************************
  23. Other Nebraska women’s stats: 4th in team defense, and only .7 points out of 3rd in the B1G 1st in offensive rebounds 3rd in defensive rebounds vs opponents 2nd in rebounding margin per game Markowski is 6th in the B1G in scoring Makowski is 2nd in B1G in rebounds/game (by .1 rebounds/game out of 1st) Markowski leads B1G league in total rebounds
  24. But that's what your team leaders should do.... Come back and help lead your team mates to a win.
  25. Our three scorers, Jazz, Potts and Markowski all shot 50% or over with Alexis at just over 70%. They held up rest of the team that was struggling a bit hitting the rim. Thought the key shot was Markowski's tip back of a free throw attempt.... turned the tide. Gave us the lead in the 4th, that I don't think we ever relinquished after that .
