Just my guess, but that may be as good as ILL can play. Don't think they can duplicate that in the 2nd half. But.... they're at home...makes a big difference.

Yes, and Prince for that matter. All the hype is dizzying. Let them get into a new level of game, and then see what they can do. Give them a chance to develop. It's a whole new ball game.

Just watched the state tourney for Elk North and Skutt. Prince and friends won by 2 in the last couple of min. Really a good game to watch. Especially for class B teams. Two fundamentally well coached and executing teams. Skutt had only lost about 5 games in the last several (3 ?) years, and they have all been to Elk North. Mark up the 6th Not to sound sexist, but it was a war among the girls. Tough no holds bar game...especially by Skutt. They left nothing on the floor. Skutt was double teaming Prince pretty hard the whole game. They did hold her in check to a degree. She did show flashes of what she can do, and put her team on her back in the second half. They were down 9 at one point in the second half. Little McCabe can shoot the long one too.

I could be wrong, but think Nebraska athletic rules say 7 & 8 are considered middle school, so are not high school 9-12. So 7 & 8 are simply not eligible for any sport. Not just girls as I understand it.

They will lose maybe 3 or 4 to graduation, loss of eligibility, etc., and/or WNBA...some their better players. So it probably will be a bit of rebuilding. But there's younger talent on the team. And they have some of floor time experience. Will be interesting to see team makeup when they field a new team next season. But that's long way off.

Addison Medeck found this....watch some of the videos. Double doubles...Definite prospect. Have to believe she's on some college radars. Just a freshman, and has good skills.....keep that in mind. 6-3 though makes up for a lot...maybe she's still growing ?? Roster set up.... Sorry, but still think our biggest need for the future, given our current and near future roster......are "big"s. Without getting into a discussion about individuals)..... we have guards, and more coming in.....and frankly there's lot more guards out there (no matter where or in what form you find them).....than there are good bigs that are "bangers". Maybe we have one or two in the wings, but not apparent now. We have a couple on the roster that hopefully can be coached to get a lot more physical. If you can't put a team on the floor with a good big...then you have to alter your scheme to make your team all about the guards. And honestly don't think you can be consistent (that word again)... winners in the BIG and nationally..... without a tough physical post player. The men's game is the same way. Anyway, enough of that...... This is a long week until the ILL. game. It's will a tough and very important game. To bad it's in their house.

My guesses... Alexis for 1st team... 2nd possible overall team. She's possibly All B1G for defense too. Not sure were Jazz will end up. Maybe like last year. The big basket against Iowa may have some influence....and she's a senior. There's lots of competition for All B1G guards/forwards Potts 1st team freshmen. Possibly All B1G freshmen too. ..but again... lots of good freshmen in the league. Maybe All B1G 2nd team? 3rd team ? L Nissley could have been a All B1G factor if she had developed sooner. May be other Huskers on 2nd and 3rd teams, but hard to see how to sort out all the teams better players, compared to another teams similar players. ? Will be interesting no matter how it ends up.

Her level of play has increased this year, especially considering her previous years here...we need another 6-3+ post....she knows the schemes...not a rookie...seems to be a great teammate.... ..so yes ...the team can use her if she wants to give it one more try.

Minn. is trying to slow us down, and doing a decent job. We need to get focused, and execute like we know we can. Cut out the silly turnovers in the second half.

Watched the game. Indy was fired up, serious, and a bit testy. Their were a couple of stare downs to make it interesting. The game environment was like at our house. Loud crowd they were and into it. Indy got ahead by about ten, at the half, and it stayed that way pretty much throughout. Clark didn't have her usual swagger. Indy was running the box and one, like we did, and it worked pretty well. Like has been said ...when Clark leaves, Iowa will have restart somewhat, but does have some talent of course. But that's next year.

it's probably mentioned before...but with the complete change over in assistant coaches in the last couple of years, we see improvement in many players. Players appear to be more relaxed, at the same time play hard, more freely, and not afraid to make mistakes. Trying new things and play hard. Sure a couple of stinker games, but they're the exception rather than the rule this year. Team chemistry is everything

According to the announcers Markowski just hit her (I think) 37th double -double. Makes her #3 in NU history. Just passed Jennings. Only Hooper and Kelsey Griffin have 3 more than Markowski. Alexis's got another year to go. That's getting into rare air folks.

There's news local, regional, and national coverage everywhere. YouTube had maybe 5 posts that I saw that were reports by news stations. Many of the sports websites are reporting the deal. So, it's well exposed in the news. I will missed the Omaha stations late today. Have to leave for an hour or so.

Aformer member of the Nebraska women's basketball team is suing the University of Nebraska after she was dismissed from the team amid allegations of an inappropriate relationship with an assistant coach. Ashley Scoggin THE WORLD-HERALD In a lawsuit filed Sunday in U.S. District Court in Lincoln, Ashley Scoggin accused former associate head coach Chuck Love of using his position and influence with head coach Amy Williams to groom her into a sexual relationship. The lawsuit also alleges Williams and Husker Athletic Director Trev Alberts failed to ensure the coaching staff maintained appropriate boundaries with student-athletes and of violating Scoggin's rights. Scoggin was removed from the team and Love was suspended from his coaching duties in February 2022 after other members of the team discovered them together in a hotel room on a road trip. A spokeswoman for NU said the university was made aware of the lawsuit Monday morning. "While the university does not comment on the specifics of pending litigation, it does not agree with the allegations contained in the complaint and intends to vigorously defend this matter," spokeswoman Melissa Lee said in a text. What Scoggin said occurred According to the lawsuit filed by Scottsbluff attorney Maren Lynn Chaloupka, Scoggin said Love began grooming her months earlier, in the summer of 2021, when she secured an internship within Husker Athletics and was invited to work in his office, spending one-on-one time with him. Chuck Love REBECCA S. GRATZ, THE ASSOCIATED PRESS Love, who is married, began contacting Scoggin late at night on social media, asking the college student to meet him, and sometimes Williams’ husband, for drinks, the lawsuit alleges. Scoggin said she initially declined the invitations, but later accepted, meeting Love in the parking lot of a Costco. At Love’s request, Scoggin said she brought alcohol with her to a subsequent meeting in the parking lot, according to the lawsuit, where he kissed her and asked if she had previously ever had an intimate relationship with a coach. “Love had already offered and given her mentoring, individual practice sessions, academic coaching, and the implied promise of support of her career,” the complaint states. “It was now undeniable that Lovewanted a sexual relationship Scoggin said in the lawsuit she felt “confused and trapped” and feared retaliation from Williams, which led her to keep the interaction to herself. Love would share information about discussions among the coaching staff with her, she said. “Love, acting in the course and scope of his employment and under color of state law, created the perception for (Scoggin) that he could ‘make her or break her’ in terms of her participation on the women’s basketball team and her future,” the lawsuit states. The relationship eventually became sexual, according to the lawsuit, and the two would meet “in different locations” in university athletics’ facilities, or in his hotel room during road games: “Love expected her to become available whenever he texted or messaged her.” The complaint indicates Scoggin began to suspect others were aware of the inappropriate relationship but did not know how to remove herself from the situation before the Huskers traveled to Penn State University in February 2022. There, according to the complaint, a member of the practice squad represented himself as Love to an employee of the hotel in order to obtain a copy of the room key. Two teammates later confronted Scoggin in Love’s room, recording the interaction. “Love instructed (Scoggin) to deny anything improper, and he told her that he would talk to Williams,” the lawsuit states. Amy Williams NIKOS FRAZIER, THE WORLD-HERALD Williams called a team meeting before the game where she allegedly allowed other players to “interrogate” both Scoggin and Love about their relationship for hours, but both denied anything improper, according to the complaint. “(Scoggin) felt panicked, trapped and profoundly ashamed,” the lawsuit states. “She could not, in that setting with Love inches away and watching her, admit the truth of what was happening.” Love was suspended with pay before the game, while Scoggin was removed from the team. The lawsuit states another unnamed player told Scoggin that Love would lose his job if she said anything, while Love encouraged her to claim she was mentally ill. Scoggin later had a meeting with her parents, Williams, and Alberts, in which she said the university employees “were motivated to avoid scandal and embarrassment” to the women’s basketball team instead of protecting a student-athlete. The lawsuit alleges Alberts did not acknowledge it was improper for coaches to pursue sexual relationships with athletes, and there was no discussion about whether or not Love had acted inappropriately leading up to Scoggin being in his hotel room. Nebraska Athletic Director Trev Alberts CHRIS MACHIAN, THE WORLD-HERALD Alberts later told Scoggin and her parents that Williams would decide how the situation would be handled. Scoggin said in the lawsuit no investigation was ordered until she started a Title IX complaint on March 11, 2022. The Title IX investigation was later dropped after Love resigned in May. As a result of her being removed from the team, Scoggin lost her housing, access to game film, and other athletic amenities, and finished the academic semester online. She eventually transferred to the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. Scoggin is seeking punitive damages, attorney's fees, and other compensation for her physical and mental pain and suffering at a jury trial, as well as "other and further relief as this court deems equitable and proper." Chaloupka told the Associated Press the allegation of a collegiate coach pursuing a sexual relationship with student-athlete was "troubling" and said NU failed in its responsibility to protect Scoggin. "There's an enormous imbalance of power between the professional coach and student-athletes. This is something that was well known in 2022," Chaloupka said. “Certainly Division I universities that operate at the top level are well aware of the harm that comes from this kind of a predatory situation, and there's a strong onus on the university and on the coaches to prevent this from happening and, heaven forbid it does happen, to address is correctly.” Take a look at the lawsuit here

This NU starting lineup really seems to play well together. They seem to compliment each others skills. Still could use some more driving to basket. So sub in Petrie (she needs more floor time some how.) and a couple others and the play stays fairly consistent. Please no one get hurt tonight. Watched some of the ILL and Indiana game, and ILL looked pretty good beating Indiana. So game may be a tough one at ILL. They thrive on their home court.

Geeze, you had to hunt for a post well over a year ago ? Sure, we all thought it was done a year or so ago. And... but, but, but... now it's not done, wouldn't you say?. Starting all over again, and this time there's a full blown law suit against the head coach, Alberts, and ex-coach Love. Regents.....The news cycle begins again. I don't really care how it ends up this time or even before. Out of my control, or anyone else on this forum, for sure. Just fodder for the forum. It is what it is.

If I remember correctly....help me out......everything went silent after the thing was first exposed. Like someone mentioned, the team was visibly shaken the next game. He didn't leave right away and was on leave so to speak, for about 6 months...I think anyway..... but Scoggins did leave fairly quickly. So if the coach and some administrators, all knew about it ....why was it kind of kept under wraps. That's usually the last thing a school wants. ...to be perceived as hiding something. It's pretty tough to keep it quiet now. And I still say it won't go to trial. Pay off before that happens. UNL won't keep it in the news any longer than they can.

Is this new law suit ? Not a surprise for sure. But she's carpet bombing NU to be sure to get money, and wouldn't be to surprised if NU makes an offer to Scoggin. That's how most schools handle it.

Because of the addition of guards coming in, we still need a big recruit or transfer, that can control the lane like Markowski. When she graduates, it's going to be a whole new ball game for this team........like any team that has to replace a force in the middle.
