  1. Lawyers have been working together to defend the case. No body did anything. It's all someone's imagination....
  2. Some B1G portal trends are beginning to show, at least for ow 4-22 24. Iowa is picking up a good one. Pretty sure that takes them to 15 on the roster. Some of the Iowa forum guys are saying McCabe may start. We'll see on that one, but who knows. They will be a new team, no Clark, but still will be formidable. Maryland also has big adds, and lots of roster movement. Retooling I guess. . But MIch has been a big loser of players so far. But their freshman class is excellent...a couple of 5 stars Wisky no adds. Have lost 5 I think. As usual Ohio St is churning their roster. Some out, some in. Michigan St adds Oregon's VanSlotten. Huge add. Penn St lost some good ones, will have to rebuild a bit. Indy ...not much movement so far. Nebraska...still waiting. We have room on the roster. Maybe need more NIL $$ to buy some talent :)
  3. Yes, that's the "lawyer talk" first response tactics ...the first shot at defending UNL in the case. Try to maybe scare the accuser. It just means we're not giving in easily, at this point. It's what you would hope your lawyer(s) would say/do. There's lots more to this deal,..... those with privy to witnesses, to testimony, etc. ....will know what "holds water" and what is smoke screen. Now begins the fun part.
  4. WBB season ticket holders got a letter today asking season ticket holders to enroll in the 1890 Nebraska Women’s BB NIL membership. Level 1 is $250, Level 2 is $1500 and Level 3 is $5000 and up. It will be interesting to see how successful this will be.
  5. Phoenix also took UCLA guard Charisma Osborne, so will be competition to make the Phoenix squad. Noticed in the WNBA draft, two French and a Aussie were taken in the first round. More out of country were taken in in 2nd and 3rd rounds. Truly an international draft. Iowa's Martin went in the middle of second round
  6. Here's her stats. Has played quite a bit in her 3 years at Florida, and will be a seasoned player. ....but is not the high minuets like Jaz usually played. Has good percentage at 3's, but doesn't look like she might go off for 20 pt. game, ....in the Gator system anyway. In ours it could be a different story, Looks to be a perimeter guard. https://www.espn.com/womens-college-basketball/player/stats/_/id/4898610/alberte-rimdal VIDEO https://www.espn.com/video/clip/_/id/39552712
  7. This article shows Jaz as about 17th pick in the WNBA draft. Might she go to the WNBA ? Where's the money ?? USA or Australia ? Interesting read. https://www.on3.com/pro/news/2024-wnba-draft-espn-releases-new-mock-predictions-for-caitlin-clark-angel-reese-other-36-picks/
  8. After watching lots of NCAA tourney games......We can use some quickness at about all positions to match up better. So Carolina (and most of the Elite 8)... had super quickness at the guards on both ends.... could drive to the basket too...and quick 4's. Everyone want's and is trying to find more speed. It too seems to be more prevalent these days. Kind of concerned about how well, and how quickly our inquired players can/ will be able to recover and get back to game speed. Hope we can get a couple of big's some how. Seem to be a lot available......but all teams are looking for bigs too.
  9. The bench play was huge. I think it ended up with SC bench had about 35 pts and Iowa had zero. Any of the SC second team bench could start on about any B1G team. They must have 3 or 4 bench players at 6-3 or taller The epitome of a deep bench.
  10. Pretty sure the program also has the highest graduation rate in the whole B1G conference !! 100% I think.
  11. UConn really held their own in the tourney, especially considering they've lost 5 players to injury this season. Hopefully we get our injured back and ready to play this upcoming season. Shows the need for a roster with back up players at all positions. Yes, the offensive blocking call with a few seconds left pretty much help decide the game. There were lots of uncalled fouls on both teams earlier.
  12. They didn't seem to want to say what the discrepancy was exactly. At least the announcer wasn't able to get an answer. Don't know if they were both wrong.... or it was one end or what. But the caches said let's play. That's pretty weird considering it's the NCAA's.
  13. Watching the LSU-UCLA game. Mulkey has about blown a gasket a couple of times. She's fired up ! Fun, close game to watch actually. Scores about tied middle of the the 4th.
  14. Need more big's and length. After the NCAA tourney it would seem evident we need more length, if we want to keep up. Vey few teams in the sweet 16 don't have a couple of long 4's and 5's. The B1G is going to see more of it soon as the west coast teams come to town. it just is what it is.
  15. Wow...dumb and dumber...Johnson played about as much as the starters. Do they get booted from the team for this kind of stuff at A&M ?
  16. Ya know, it's really too bad. She's such a great talent...but she is classless, does stupid things.... a lot
  17. Not sure where this goes, but... Agree with most of the points made here. Good stuff. The tournament play was way more physical, and to some extent quicker, than we faced all year. We, at this point aren't ready for it. Maybe that's the lesson learned this year. In some ways that's a good thing.... learned the hard way. But we got that chance to see what's really like playing in the "big time"...just getting there. All the B1G teams has the same issues. Week in and week out, we don't see physically "tough" teams. The teams coming in to the B1G, in the next couple of years may have their way with the rest of the B1G ...at first. The B1G may have to adapt to them...not the other way around. A lot more thug stuff in a lot of games I watched, not just our games. Near fights in many games. Trash talking, knocking people down (we did receive some of that) Pott's got pushed around and had her own little protest late in the game. If that's the way it's going to be in national tourneys, then we have get much tougher....or not. Another issue is getting shots off when under "stress". Much tougher to do in the NCAA's. The B1G is much less defensive minded. Easier to get set and shoot. And...lastly, opposing coaches had prepared defenses to neutralize our scorers, and executed their defense in a workman like manner. Good coaching, with a team that could adapt overnight. This was a great experience for out team. I expect they have grown up to the realities of high level play...and maybe us to a lesser extent.
  18. Was thinking the same thing at the half time. All these competitive teams have two or three athletic players at 6-3, 6-4 or more in some cases. It's already started, and It's just the way women's basketball is going to be in the future...bigger ...and bigger...and bigger.
  19. OSU had at least 10 blocks. Pretty much a huge part of why we were not scoring, But yes, a great season. Next year will be more of the same, but better....lots of wins. Lots of fun. This one stings but considering everything...the team did great. Proud of them, and to be a HUSKER !
  20. Is it my imagination, but Jazz doesn't' seem to even want to shoot a three?? Crazy, we're just not getting them shot.
  21. Holding Oregon St to 28 in a half is no easy feat. Actually have done well in that regard. Just somehow, pick up the offense and we have a good chance. On the other hand Oregon St's coach is no rookie. Expect them to counter with more offensive schemes in the 2nd half.
  22. You can kind of see we're not comfortable, and kind of tight. Our guards must work harder to get free for 3's There's not a lot of point in having Markowski out front. Come on girls, women or what ever...turn the wick up, grit your teeth, and get on a mission
