  1. How good is Cornish Kamdy? I know you said he needs work on his shot. Will he contribute next year?
  2. I think that Deng starts over Rivers at the 4 and we continue with Pitch at the 5. Moses rotates in off the bench. Deng would give us a fourth scoring threat, assuming TP, Shevon & Pitch are our current scorers. He would also add a second inside scoring threat. Deng would be a huge get!
  3. The Scout LSU site people are reporting a very high degree of confidence they will sign Deng. The SEC bag men must have come through.
  4. Interesting. On Rivals, Sean Callahan just posted that Deng Deng is already in Lincoln.
  5. Don't forget that Hammond played at Sunrise Academy his junior year and had a healthy 12 point average.
  6. I think he will end up as #2. IMHO Coach Miles hired Coach Molinari for a couple reasons. First of all, he is a proven D1 coach who can recruit and serve as an excellent X & O guy. Secondly, Coach Molinari is looking for a place to land for the rest of his career. The downside of hiring talented young coaches is they all want to coach their own team. The benefits of hiring these talented young coaches is undeniable but the disruption that occurs when you are replacing coaches yearly burns lots of time. Coach Miles needs one guy he can depend on who will be here with him for years to come. Coach Molinari is just that guy. As a result, he will end up as #2 in the pecking order.
  7. Very interesting prospect Kamdy. Looks like just what we need actually. Have you seen him play. Is he quick enough to be a good on ball defender in the B1G? From what I've seen the kid can play. Heres a series of highlights against Stanford this past January http://www.snappytv.com/snaps/hallice-cooke-highlights-vs-stanford-1-9-14-about-stanford-at-oregon-state-on-pac-12-oregon_ag Wow! Cooke looks spectacular. I assume we are just hoping he will entertain an offer from Nebraska but have no knowledge whether or not Coach Miles has talked to him. Is this correct? My fingers are crossed!

  9. Then he should be just what we need!
  10. Thanks CWG. I found that one too but all it tells us is that Tarin made 22 three pointers in 27 games last season. It doesn't list field goal % anywhere that I can find.
  11. Anyone know Smith's 3 point percentage either in high school or AAU ball?
  12. There is a report that the Huskers are pursuing sophomore Nevada transfer Cole Huff. Cole is a 6'8" forward who was 2nd on the team in scoring at 12 ppg and averaged 5.4 rpg. Huff shot 45% from the field and 40% from the 3 point line. Iowa is also after Huff.
  13. Yup. Is McKnight a graduate transfer or will he have to sit out one year? He will be eligible immediately, but there's some talk that he might turn pro instead. Is he that good?

  15. Reading the Rivals articles on Deng it sounds like he is a 3 for 2. But it was not clearly stated that way in any of the articles so I'm not 100%.
  16. I'd be semi-shocked if this happened.I'd be completely shocked if this happens. The coaches have better guys on the radar for 2014.I wouldn't dismiss him quite so quickly. While it's probably a long shot, the kid has proven that he's a legit D-I scorer as a freshman, which is pretty impressive. Plus, just because we're on the radar of some good 2015 kids, it doesn't mean we're going to sign any of them. A bird in hand is worth two in the bush, or something like that...I can assure you he isn't coming. And I can assure you we will fill the rest of the scholarships with kids that can play this fall...and you'll be happy with who they are.Do you actually know something or are you just confident that Coach Miles & staff can get it done? I know who's visiting and who they're working their backsides off to get to come here and I'm confident that this staff will get the right guys to keep the program on the same trajectory. Thanks for the response and hope they get the guys they are after!
  17. Thanks for the response. Hope they get who they want!

  19. If he is 2015 doesn't that mean those are freshman numbers? If so, they are very strong numbers for a first year Juco!
  20. You wouldnt have sports if this were the case. EVERY coach in EVERY sport hires at least one friend. Coach Smith was Miles' friend. Tom Osborne hired many friends. Urban Meyer hired several friends. Coach K has hired many of his players that became friends along the way. Harriman and Hunter were not linked to Miles so there are two people he didnt have any prior relationship. Its ok for Miles to hire one guy, that he already has a good relationship with, that happens to have an amazing amount of experience and knowledge, to be a rock for him to turn to on the bench. I dislike friend hires also. But it depends on the purpose of the hire. If a friend is also the best candidate, then hire him/her. In this case I am guessing that Coach Miles has several objectives, one of which is to find someone who will stick around for a longer period of time. Coach Miles needs continuity now and another young coach building his career and seeking a head coaching job does not provide this. Just my guess but I believe Coach Molinari meets all of Coach Miles objectives, including longevity.
  21. Why do you think these programs are less than ethical? I've mentioned this several times on the board, but Doc Sadler told me a couple years ago that Kentucky was well known in the D1 coaching circles to pay players. He said Calipari uses a professional agent who pays the players and in return receives the contract to manage them when they go pro. Not sure if it was sour grapes but didn't sound like it. He also mentioned Baylor and Kansas under Self.
