  1. i listened to Matt and Jeff while watching on tv. i've always enjoyed them even when Jeff goes on some word salad, but, rather disappointed in both of them for making excuses for all the missed layups. i'm sure some of you heard them......it's February in the Big Ten, and the legs are getting a bit tired. ummm.......NO fellas. rather ugly, but, very good win! yes, liking Petrie. future looks pretty good for her. and, i admit, at first i kinda had ?????? just like AM.....if Potts and/or Petrie are around the rim, gotta try and get them a touch! great to see Coley finish underneath!
  2. looking at the remaining schedule, this is a must win. read the column in Big Red Today (OWH). here is a comment from freshman Jessica Petrie: " It's not actually the gameday itself," freshman forward Jessica Petrie said, "It's the preparation beforehand. It's how we show up to practices two or three days before (the game), or the shootaround the morning of. It's the focus and intensity that we push each other with and how hard we hold each other accountable in the days before so that when it is game day we're ready and we know what we need to do to execute."
  3. charlie creme has huskers as a #10 seed playing FSU. btw, updated Feb 6th. minny first four out. that surprised me......i don't know how they even got a mention.
  4. may have gotten the wrong summit league coach. A. Johnson (SDSU) lost 4 players before the season to season ending injuries and just lost another for the rest of this season. 2, and possibly 3 were starters. he has 7 scholarship players now. searched campus for a couple of players to add for bodies. yes, i get it. it is the summit league, and the Jacks still remain undefeated in the Summit. it is amazing how well he has his team playing through all the adversity. i watch quite a few of their games. been a number of games where it has ended up close at the half, only to have the Jacks come out and take care of business in the second half. Adjustments.
  5. unfortunately, williams signature softball is around the corner
  6. as a husker wbb fan, i may have never been so pissed. i have to calm down.
  7. you know, like i stated, i really like her aggressiveness to the basket, but, she really has trouble finishing if she is closed on. too many times she takes it too deep and that gets her into trouble. stop and kick it back out. she is forcing it.
  8. imo.........no. Krull makes me really nervous. really, i want her to do good when she is in there, but, i just don't think she should be one of the first off the bench and definitely not starting. KM needs to be first off the bench or if coach wants that other option for starter. nissley has a ways to go. good shooter, but, her passing needs much work. especially when she gets caught around the basket. coach needs to reign Hake in a bit. i love her aggressiveness, however, she has to know to stay out of certain situations when driving the ball. can't throw up a shot that has about a 5% chance of going in. MOST of the time, defenses have closed in on her pretty fast. right now, her best game is around the perimeter. i was thinking Potts may have hit a wall.......but, i think she'll be just fine. i have joined with many of you.........this subbing stuff. ugh. just had to release a little steam.....even on a nice win. Oh,,,,,,,and Hud, you may have won the battle of discussion on Illinois.....even though they did spank Michigan and have lost a lot of close games.
  9. just facing reality..........huskers will be fortunate to keep it around a 20pt loss. i just see it closer to 30. and that hurts. it's possible iowa has an "off" night and keep it around a 15-20pt loss, but, talent difference is just too wide. money on getting ugly.
  10. didn't get to watch the game live. so...........went to the replay. i think this is the first time ever i couldn't stomach any more and quit watching about halfway through the third quarter. brutal.
  11. if i remember correctly, only top 100 post player available for 2025 is the Eschmeyer gal from Colorado. offers are from Stanford and a number of Big Ten schools. if the name sounds familiar to some, yes, her dad played at Northwestern. huskers were not noted on her offer list.
  12. i didn't get to see the game.........but, when a team like indiana shoots over 60% fg and 3 pt'ers you are sunk. guess defense had a bit to do with that. next up.
  13. being reported Ally Batenhorst is entering the transfer portal. i had heard this a couple months ago from a VERY good source....my sister
  14. i am just very hopeful Britt Prince takes a lot of pride wearing the red and cream throughout her college career. but, how times have changed.
  15. i may be wrong, but, i thought Choboy was pretty highly rated coming out of high school? i know gophers were pretty excited when she committed.
  16. don't kid yourself..........any college sports fan is very aware of the transfer portal.
  17. possibly adding kentucky and ucla now gooopher fans sure want her bad
  18. Donarski was a huge loss for ISU. ISU is still pretty darn good, but...
  19. uhhh.......am i missing something? why would you say she would be playing for missouri next season?
  20. just a little fyi......i read MM is following a couple gopher mbb, and, Shaffmaster from gophers wvb. *update*........hearing it's between Minnesota and Florida
  21. i know Hake has had her share of criticism, but, geez.........i like her grit. her 3 pointers aren't bad either don't remember which game it was, but, i was impressed at least she would attempt to drive to the basket where the other guards were tentative. anyway, big kudos to Callin Hake!
  22. the portal is what it is.................however, i will go on record saying it absolutely sucks a student athlete can transfer during the season (and, technically, it is mid-season for MM being on bb schollie). let me also add that she is far from the first one to do this. there are a number of examples, so i am not trying to just dump on MM at all. needs to be a number of improvements with this transfer portal.
  23. does she even play basketball again? i'd be a little surprised if she does.
  24. went and checked the last six seasons for average to's per game: 2022-23 huskers 15.2 opp 15.1 2021-22 huskers 14.0 opp 14.8 2020-21 huskers 13.4 opp 9.9 2019-20 huskers 14.2 opp 12.8 2018-19 huskers 15.0 opp 15.2 2017-18 huskers 14.8 opp 14.2 i guess i expected to see a little wider discrepency. except for the one season, it's pretty comparable. however, would like to hear announcers say..."this is a team that doesn't turn over the ball much"
