What I’ve learned is that your reaction to this type of situation is a lot different when you actually feel like you are a target. I don’t feel like a target in this situation, but some of the players on the team do. That’s something that is hard to relate to, and if they’re scared than I fully support 100% whatever type of response they choose to go forward with. Because the fact of the matter is African Americans are a minority on UNL’s campus, and if these guys are feeling targeted by this wacko then we need to stand behind them and let them know that we’re here to support them.

We no longer live in a time when you can treat a kid with that ideology as just a loser.

It doesn't seem like the basketball team is down with the 'Ah shucks it's just a white supremacist so everyone just ignore it and we're cool' approach.

Wouldn't his admission that he's only seen them once and looked at two box scores be exactly the reason why he'd take the two dudes he knows everything about over two he doesn't?

I don't get why you two are off in the weeds over this.  Perhaps I've over-estimated some people on this board.  I figured 99.9% of the people here would realize that there was no quid-pro-quo trade by which we gave up Morrow et al in order to get Copeland et al.  I didn't figure it even needed to be reiterated.  There's nothing "intellectually dishonest" about the way I phrased the poll when I made clear in the OP to "just PRETEND that we swapped" these players for those. This implies that I understand we didn't actually, directly swap them.
 
Could I have phrased it the way Dimes thinks I should have?  Sure. I suppose. Or he could have started such a thread himself. But it wouldn't have captured what I was more interested in discussing, which was whether the transfers who will now be eligible are a net gain over the transfers who left.
 
To me, there was a certain symmetry in having two people transfer out of the lineup from the sophomore class and having exactly two others step into the lineup as juniors the following season. And the one player who would have been in this year's senior class is replaced by another senior.  So the class sizes have essentially remained the same as far as the players who would have been available to take the floor. Other than Jeriah Horne. 
 
I could have phrased the poll any number of ways. It seemed most interesting to me to describe it in terms of a fictional trade.  I grant the analogy doesn't fit perfectly. I never said it did.  I thought I made that clear in the OP when I said "just PRETEND that we swapped" etc. It seems most people understood what I was getting at.

Don't want him.  I mean, look at that ring finger on his right hand.  It's broken in multiple places.  And he doesn't have a thumb either.  How in the world is he supposed have soft hands with only 3 1/2 fingers?!?  This makes post players with knees bending the wrong direction seem much more appealing.

Is playing in the D League considered finding a spot in the NBA?

Last time I checked, 4 pts and 2 boards a game is more than we currently have from our backup center.

Low D1 or D2 is just laughable. MJ is a P5 Role player hands down. He can and should play with the big boys. Is he a star? Not by any means. But don't insult the kid by labeling him as D2 player type of talent.

That's strange because members on this board speculated for months that we were going to lose a few guys. It's almost like this coach is in over his head.

I know it sort of defeats the purpose of a message board, and I'm not trying to call anyone out on anything -- so I hope no one posting takes this personally, because I don't mean it personally. I don't doubt that there are people posting here who do learn things that others may not be publicly privy to, and I don't doubt anyone would post something they knew to be untrue, just for the sake of posting it (as in, I assume they're posting something they heard from someone else, but in good faith that it's accurate). We're all here, presumably, because we love Nebraska Basketball.
 
But the rumor mill has been churning on overdrive around here the last couple weeks. So before we get too sold on any one narrative, whether that's one of Miles being an insufferable d-bag that players hate, or that Jacobson just wanted to shoot 3s, or that we're trading coaches with New Mexico, or any other stories yet to arise...I'm throwing out the suggestion that we take a second to realize that what we hear from the university probably won't match what we hear from "sources", and what "sources" have to say may or may not actually have any basis in reality (or may be hyperbole that has some roots in a fact somewhere, but just gets overblown as it passes from person to person). In other words, I'm just presenting the virtual salt shaker, and invite everyone to take a grain or handful.

I dont care. This program has been dog shit the past few years any now were going to add a guy who wil average 4 points and 2 boards a game? Woohoo.

If you made a list of potential head coaches for Nebraska that included Dana Altman you're a hack. If you've done so in the last two weeks you're a hack that writes about Nebraska basketball when you aren't musing about what Bob Diaco is going to do with the Blackshirts. I mean, seriously?  As I said before, you have someone else lined up I'm all over it.  Thus, if we had anyone on some hack's listicle lined up we already would have fired Miles and went through their press conference.
 
Lewis as the interim coach?  So let's take the instability of the current program and put the onus on a guy who also might not be here in a year .  We're going to fill 4 scholarships and/or recruits for 2018/2019 with a band-aid coach? Once again,YOLOFIRING the coach isn't a guaranteed panacea and is probably the recipe for 5 more years of the bottom of the B1G basement.

We have guys on here lamenting about Fuller transferring. You cannot overemphasize the points that transfers happen and that not every single one from the team you follow is a personal rejection and not every single one is unhelpful.

Us schmucks also can see that he's brought in a higher level of player and knows that the goal is making the NCAA tourney. Heck, he even lucked into one.

You can sit here all day and point fingers about how dumb it is for wanting to keep Miles around for another year but your plan now is to find someone who is not Miles to probably not do any better for the next 4-5 years. Let's look at which mid-major coaches made the tournament this year and just hope it works out, right?  YOLO!
