  1. A little bit of inconsequential news this morning, Samatha Shepard, jessica Shepards younger sister gave Midland University a verbal this morning.
  2. Here's a short write up on future Husker Leigha Brown with two videos on her decision to become a Husker. http://wane.com/2017/06/15/dekalbs-leigha-brown-ready-to-suit-up-for-huskers/
  3. Simone Goods signed on to continue her career at Illinois State a few days ago.
  4. Actualfacts1, I think I speak quite possibly for every member associated with this women's forum when I say having you give us some insight no matter how much or little you divulge is some of the best information on this forum. I myself would much rather read what you put on this forum than what the local media provides. I encourage you to keep writing your views in our little corner of the web but don't write things that could possibly get you in some sort of hot water.

  6. You're right HB, I should have explained myself better. I should have wrote, for this new staff's first full season of recruiting at Nebraska instead 7 months on the job, opposed to last year.
  7. ProspectNation has weighed in on the Sam Haiby committment. https://prospectsnation.com/story/nation-notebook-princeton-stetson-nebraska Three 4 stars and one 3 star, I'll take that as a very good start for this new coaching staff on their first recruiting class! Could there be more added to this class yet we'll just have to and see as the summer progresses.
  8. She's heading to a team that has a roster that's usually always chalked full of good players, and year in and year out they're always at top of the Summitt League at the end. She's going to experience the highs and lows of being involved a race for the conference crown. Could take her a while to see the court on a regular basis though. https://brookingsregister.com/article/sdsu-womens-basketball-volleyball-teams-both-add-one
  9. Really like that this kid brings tons of athleticism to PBA. Here's to hoping that each of the new recruits keep themselves healthy and ready to hit the floor running when they get here.
  10. Contrary to what others have said or believe, I actually like how the 2018 recruiting class is coming together. Sure we need a big girl or two but that's what we need as of right now for this upcoming season. As far as I can tell this 2018 class has touched on the positions that will be critical two years from now and going forward from that season. We got one of our future big's out of Minnesota in Kayla Mershon 6'3 ProspectNation has her at a 4-Star and the 86th best player in the class. ESPN has her pegged as the 9th best post this coming year. Ashlyn Verbeek 6'2 (whom I'm really high on and many east of the Missouri River are now saying she could most likely the best player to come out of Iowa next season,) is playing with the All Iowa Attack this summer and is getting exposed to recruiting services, thus ESPN has given her a 4-Star rating and has her ranked now as the 5th best post in the nation and 50th best player in the whole class. ProspectNation has finally got her ranked as 3-1/2 Star Leigha Brown 6'1 hasn't been in front of too many recruiting services but from videos I've seen she's deadly from behind the arc. And her coaches are stressing that she's an excellent rebounder. For a team that has slipped to dismal debts lately, those three alone should come into NU in pretty good shape and improve the team going forward. I think there's room for another verbal in this class, but we'll just have to wait and see.
  11. Welcome to Husker Nation Leigha! Have a great senior season and come to Lincoln ready to dominate!
  12. Stay tuned guy's and gal's, sounds as though Leigha Brown's recruitment is happening faster than we can keep up with. Nothing official yet though.
  13. Would be nice if every school would release the actual game attendance figures instead inflated ones like Wisconsin, Purdue, and Michigan St. do.
  14. I don't think whether she can be trusted or not should have anything to do with it. These are the decisions any head coach and their staff make when you're at a power 5 division 1 school. Not everyone will agree with them but they're trying to do what's best for their program.
  15. Not exactly. All indications though are pointing toward Sam Haiby (the 5'9 swing guard out of Moorhead, MN) listed above, as being a silent commit. Right now she's juggling her time playing for the North Titan AAU team and the Moorhead baseball team. I believe it's just a matter of time that she announces. A few other D-1 schools have jumped on her bandwagon lately though, namely Iowa State and Wisconsin.
  16. From what little we have to go on and a few questions left to be answered, here's how I see the starting line up to unfold next November and why. G - Hannah Whitish 5'9 - sophomore to be, her ability to knock down the outside shot got better each game she played and her defense progressed as she became more comfortable on the court. Earned the starting role as the season progressed because of this. As she gets more comfortable in the system her defense and offensive out put should increase even more dramatically. One year in this system and the off season will help her immensely in all facets. G - Janay Morton 5'10 - red-shirt senior next season, has one key factor over the rest of the team that being experience. The kid has one year to learn the system by sitting on the sidelines and if you don't think that learning experience doesn't help just ask Kelsey Griffin. In each of her three seasons at Eastern Michigan Janay averaged 12.5 points or better hitting 38% from behind the arc plus she earned a spot on the MAC all defensive team her junior season. C - Rachel Blackburn 6'3 - red-shirt sophomore coming off a couple of surgeries. Extremely motivated to get back on the court. Should fit right in to the new system. Huskers can't afford to not have her on the court because of her height and the attitude she brings. Hopefully she can become more consistent on her jump shot from within15 feet. One draw back if she can get it under control, is staying out of foul trouble. Her intense play caused her a lot of unnecessary fouls her freshmen year. G/F - Nicea Eliely 6'1 - sophomore next season, proved last season without a doubt she needs to be on the court with her ability to excel in all facets of the game. Brings an up-tempo energy to the game for all 40 minutes. Should be able get more consistent with her jumper through out the off season. PG - Bria Stallworth 5'6 - sophomore next year, averaged 13 points as a freshman at UMass and 4 assists. Sat out learning the system last year. Anxious to get out on the court. Has the ability to drive the lane and dish ala Lindsey Moore. First few off the bench: sr-Jasmine Cincore, jr-Maddie Simon, fr-Taylor Kissinger I've got a pretty young line up with 4 sophomore's and a senior in penciled into the starting line up, that's how I see it now, Now my predictions could change should the Huskers sign a pretty good transfer this summer though. How do you guy's and gal's see it shaping up? Do you agree or not, don't be shy let the rest of us know.
  17. The person can only be physically gone but never the life lived and the memories shared. Have faith and be strong, Silver.
  18. Don't think she'll ever be without a job for too long. Her ability to recruit on a top knotch level should keep her employed for a quite a while..
  19. Former Husker basketball player Allie Havers is eager to ace her second sport Go get em' Allie!!
  20. She had a scholarship offer to South Dakota but no scholarship here at NU. I think she was hoping to get put on scholarship for next year, but when that didn't happen her and her family decided it may be in her best interest to go somewhere where it would. Schooling last season would have cost her parents some $20-$30 grand. The lure of free education vs her parents having to pay tuition again is most likely one of the main reasons of her transferring.
  21. Fairly good day yesterday in the WNBA draft for the Big Ten. Nia Coffee of Northwestern went at #5 to San Antonio, Shatori Walker-Kimbrough & Brionna Jones from Maryland went #6 to Washington and #8 to Connecticut respectably, Tori Jankoska from Michigan St. went at #9 to Chicago and Shayla Cooper of Ohio St. goes at #11 also to Connecticut. No other player from the conference was selected. Kelsey Plum from Washington was the overall number one pick. http://www.wnba.com/2017-wnba-draft/
  22. Surely they could afford to reach into that pot of $110 million and buy some fescue and have a few students spread it all over the Ryan Stadium football field in hopes to have a green field next season.
