Student at the U. Always was and always will be an optimist.
  1. Went to high school with Maddie for a couple of years. One of the nicest girls I have met, really athletic (watch her run hurdles, she is fast and athletic), and great ball player. Her entire family is an athlete haven. I believe two (one for sure) of her older brothers actually ran track at UNL too. Her and her whole family are pure class.
  2. There has been times when I've yelled at Gene during a game just giving him crap, he will look over after hearing it, give some type of movement/jesture to me (usually a shoulder shrug, shake of the head, or a smile), and then keep going. Gene is actually one of the refs I hate to have, but he knows how to take jokes and deal with fans, especially before the games. However, overall, Officiating was terrible last night. Brian and teddy were terrible. Brian and teddy have never been good refs, both in it for themselves.
  3. The glimpses of greatness that this team can be is such a tease compared to where we actually are.
  4. We need to bulk up a lot this off season. Guys can't finish through contact and guys being pushed around.
  5. Kind of a random question, but does Dan Dakich have any connections to Nebraska or anything? Seems to be pretty high on us as far as a team, and facilities (which isn't a surprise).
  6. I must have missed this before. Between this and the constant praising of his personality, I get a huge Biggs vibe and it probably explains some of his issues at Louisville. He very well might be right about having a better chance at the NBA at Georgetown...assuming he can make it on the court. I think we could handle some headaches if the talent was there but I'm not sure the talent/drama ratio is where it needed to be. It's probably for the best for both parties he didn't end up here. We all want local D-1 kids to play here so thankfully we have a guy like Arop coming down the road. I've always envied those who are not burdened with self-awareness. This is my bad. Should have gotten back to this post and Dimes post as well quicker, but it was from the thread from like a year ago when Akoy was being recruited the first time when I posted that. Definitely didn't mean to sound bad or anything like that.
  7. That was only one of his names. The others were lopsided as well. It's all fun and games until someone losses a nut.
  8. Anyone have like a shot chart for the whole season? Would love to know our percentage on lay ups and overall just shots inside the paint. But we looked good for the most part tonight. Fuller has to be close to leading rebounder per minutes played. When Walt dedicates himself to rebounding, I think his game opens up so much more. But it was great seeing Leslee and Moses playing. Both played very cautious, Moses hardly used his injured hand for anything, And same with Leslee on putting a lot of pressure on his knee. But that's to be expected. Glad to get the W for sure.
  9. Just posting the tweets as they come in. Ya that was my bad. Didn't see the tweet.
  10. Inside source says Moses is more likely to play compared to Leslee tonight if either play. But both are still questionable.
  11. Have posted this before but I have talked to his "girlfriend" before, and she said his main goal is to get to the nba. He choose Louisville the first time because that had the name brand that would get him to the league. I have a feeling he is goin to GTown for the same reason.
  12. Wow. I don't even know what to tell you. Don't you know that cheesy line from a poem? It is better to have loved and lost than to have never have loved at all? If you are afraid to fail and afraid of expectations... there are quite a few teams out there that don't pay their coaches over a million dollars and would love to welcome you as a fan. I should have mentioned that I'm super happy where we are at now with the PBA and making the tourney and everything. It could also be just the memories at the Bob that I miss. Actually it's most likely the memories that I miss. It could also be I'm not used to having the high expectations this year, compared to other years. But this year has been tough to watch, at least in my opinion.
  13. Does anyone besides myself miss the old Nebraska basketball? I really miss having no expectations and never being disappointed. I miss the fact that the fans who showed up were actual husker basketball fans and stayed and cheered, and not the ones who leave games early (and yes I know people left the bob early, but damn, it's never been this bad before). I really miss being really optimistic about going into a big game and then if we stay close in those games, you knew it would be good. But now, we are expected to be good and when we aren't, it just puts such a damper on your mood. Having low expectations and then succeeding and/or not disappointing loss feels so much better than having high expectations and failing.
  14. So much this. Except the part about wondering whether having him on the team next year would be a good thing. That part is flat out nuts. Is it nuts though? We have Andrew White coming in, and watching him during the preseason game, he's going to want to be the main guy. If Terran stays, some butting of the heads might occur with both trying to be the main guys. But if Terran stays, it's another scorer we have, so really I think it all depends on what their relationship is like and if they know their roles. I also think Andrew is a lot better than Terran. Looks to have his head in check, great great looking shot, and actually has a decent basketball IQ. I'm kind of on the side that I want Terran and Walt gone, and for this team to get a fresh start. But I also understand that these two are huge parts of our game, so if they do leave, we are losing a lot of offense.
