  1. That is hardly even worth betting. What does $10 pay? $12 counting the $10 you wagered? Basically just says we are more than likely in if that is what the odds are.
  2. I know many of the managers and higher ups at Brewskys. Next time I see them I will bring this up and see what they say. I do know that most of the managers would be on the Nebraska side not Creighton if they had to draw a line. Brewskys also used to be located in Lincoln, but recently moved corporate to Omaha. They did this because the majority of their owners/management lived closer to Omaha vs Lincoln and one of their locations has a ton of extra space so they didn't need a separate corporate office. They have 4 Lincoln locations/2 Omaha locations.
  3. Prices are crazy. I wasnt able to go to the Northwestern game so just to see if they would sell put $200 on my 300 level seats. They were listed for about a day before they sold. Never thought I would see the day someone would pay that for tickets, let alone tickets against Northwestern.
  4. For Petteway can we just have his long term skill be "Not going to the NBA until after his senior year"?
  5. Creighton fans....of course our #33 ranked conference SOS dwarfs their ranking of #67. I am definitely not a Creighton fan. Just saying we were lucky this year with our draw. We have taken advantage of it and won quite a few games. It can be looked at one of two ways. Either we missed out on wins against quality opponents or we didn't play anyone. I think it is somewhere in between.
  6. One thing that has helped us out this year is a very friendly Big 10 slate. Every year we play all but 2 teams at home and all but 2 teams on the road. So we play 7 teams twice and 4 teams once. If you look at the teams we only played once they are most of the top teams in the Big 10, while we played the bottom teams twice. Played once (home game) Minnesota and Wisconsin Played once (away game) Iowa and Michigan State
  7. Been riding this wave all year. Pretty close to automatic at home.
  8. My cousin is a Creighton Alum, but also follows Nebraska. I have always followed Nebraska and Cincinnati so I have always had to come up with ammo to argue with him. It isn't hard to argue Creighton sucks when you have another half way respectable program, but with Nebraska it gets a bit more challenging. (Arguing Creighton is not as good as Cincy is easy, especially when one of Creightons top teams of all time barely defeats one of Cincys worst tourney teams in the last 25 years). The fact I always used until last years Wichita State run was tourney success. The last MVC team to get to the Elite Eight was Wichita State in 1981, then you can always fall back on it isn't hard to make the tournament as the #2 program in a mid-major conference. All Creighton fans have is MVC success, a few tourney wins and success over a consistently bad Nebraska team the last 10 years or so. Compare them to any other program in the nation and they are mediocre at best. Give Miles a few years and Creighton fans will be talking about the "glory days"
  9. Why write in Fuller? Why isn't the thread titled "Will Fuller redshirt?" It's going to be an interesting line up for sure. The key IMO are roles. This is why I don't see a likelihood of any redshirts. I feel like everyone will have a role in certain games. It's all about a dynamic rotation, determined game by game, that will carry us to victory. Some guys might not touch the floor for 3 games running, but end up helping us seal the next two victories with a big rebound late, or a defensive stop in OT. That's what I'm getting at. I would redshirt skinny, yet highly projectable, frosh (like Vooch last year) and that's it. If someone does not play for 3 games straight and is a freshmen with upside IMO they should be redshirted. If a guy does not play for a few games in a row and sees the floor in OT or in the closing minutes of a game the board will blow up and criticize the hell out of Miles if he doesn't perform(unless there are multiple players that have fouled out). IMO we should not have a year where we redshirt basically a whole class like Doc did a few years back. If Miles is able to bring in the talent we hope that he can then most years there should be one player in most classes that gets redshirted. A player that benefits more from a year of development allowing a 5th year vs playing 5 minutes as a freshman.
  10. XXL for me. How do we get them and get you the cash when you know how much they are?
  11. The question is do we have enough minutes to go around? It is easy to say this guy gets 20 minutes or that guy gets 10 minutes until you start breaking own the minutes and it gets pretty tight. There are only 200 minutes in a game...if Petteway/Pitchford/Gallegos/Webster/Shields each play 25 per game that is 125. Rivers/Biggs/Smith each play 20 that is 60. That leaves 15 minutes for Fuller/Hawkins/Parker/Vooch. Those minutes are probably a bit low for the first group and there still is not much to go around, especially if Fuller is going to get double digit minutes and Parker is going to see the floor at all.
  12. Personally I have always thought it depends on the depth chart at the program. If the player can't cut the 10 man rotation, then redshirt him. If he is raw with a lot of potential and won't be in the top 8, then redshirt him. If he can start of provide valuable minutes off of the bench then play him. With this being said if there is a recruiting "miss" you don't want that person to redshirt. Eight that will play in my opinion...Gallegos/Petteway/Pitchford/Biggs/Rivers/Shields/Webster/Smith How many minutes are left after those 8? Are Hawkins or Fuller good enough to spend a redshirt on? I would think they would be rated as our #9 and #10 players.
  13. Very good chance that could happen. The last 5 star Cronin had was Lance Stephenson. He left after one year, when he should have stayed. Pacers took him in the 2nd and he is now in their rotation, but if he had stayed another year he would probably have found his way into the 1st round.
  14. I've never posted on here before, but have been a lurker for a while. I started following Cincy basketball back in the days of Nick Van Exel, prior to Danny Fortson and K-Mart. I've been a season ticket holder for the Huskers for the last few years and this is going to be a tough match up for Nebraska, especially inside. Cincy last year got almost all of their scoring from Sean Kilpatrick, JaQuon Parker and Cashmere Wright. They are a very streaky shooting team and are definitely not afraid to launch 3's, more times than not settling for an early 3 when they could get that same shot later. Especially Titus Rubles who is a great rebounder and defender, but a terrible 3 point shooter who can't pass it up. The players they have returning inside are not a threat to score other than garbage buckets or wide open shots, but with that being said they are extremely physical and athletic. They prefer to play physical basketball and hope the ref's let them. If the game isn't called close they can be very very tough. They are also very deep. They have 5 recruits coming in with the cream of the crop being Jermaine Lawrence a 6'9 PF who is a 5 star recruit. If Lawrence can make an impact this team will be much better than last year. The Huskers are going to have major problems with how physical they are, especially with the lack of inside depth the Huskers have.
