  1. I’d take Finke here in a heartbeat
  2. 13-19 is not the concern. 19-13 is. Kids aren’t going to walk into a program whose coach’s head is already in the noose. At least kids that have other options anyways.
  3. Also fair to note that 3 of their 5 losses were without Koster.
  4. Always be interested to see how things would've changed under different circumstances. It's always easier embracing a role when you are having fun and/or winning. Jacobson's experience with the 5 came with a lot of losses. No way to know for sure, but willing to bet, he'd have been more open to playing the 5 this year, because there was more on floor success and he was surrounded by better bodies which would have helped his game some.
  5. Have an ISU fan at work who was telling me that their program/fanbase is very excited about Jacobson next year.
  6. I think one of the two (Jacobson & Morrow) would've struggled for minutes. Both play over Jordy though. One other thing though where these two could've found minutes is due to the 2 guard spot. If we had a competent body to play the 5 outside of Roby, I very easily can see Roby playing the 3 and Palmer the 2 with Jacobson/Morrow at the 5.
  7. Guessing because the committee thinks the 8-10 is better.
  8. That’s a troll twitter account. Would love Altman, but we’re not paying him as much or more than we are Frost
  9. I don't see that happening. But I'd be tickled if it did
  10. Even more of a reason to wish we'd hear about some big guys hearing from us.
  11. Wish we'd hear from some frontcourt players who have heard from us.
  12. No, I don't think the SEC had a bad weekend. I think you saw them for what they are. A deep league that doesn't have any elite teams. That played itself out through the dance. Early success with teams falling off as it progressed. And there is a bit more to the non-conference than just a weekend. That's over 2 months. Not just a Thursday-Saturday combo. I won't disagree that there aren't better measures (I..e KenPom) but it also doesn't invalidate it all together.
  13. RPI is fueled by results. Agreed there were a number of NIT teams that could have made NCAA runs. But that's the case nearly every year. Not a huge difference in last 6 in versus the last 6 out.
  14. I do think there should be some weighting to how a team finishes. Agree that some teams gel quicker than others. Also understand the aspect that it is a year long resume though too. Have no issue with the SEC getting 8 teams in. They won games in the non-con. Lots of them. Against good competition. FAR FAR more than the Big 10. If the Big 10 wanted more teams in, it should have told its teams to not suck in the non-con. As I said back closer to selection sunday....my issues are this: -Seemingly changing goal posts annually for the committee. Every year or so there is a new hot button. -Transparency: If you are focusing solely on metrics....say so. Don't paint a picture that you are truly evaluating.
  15. Why do I have this feeling we wouldn’t be considering ourselves 1-3 had we lost the exhibition? Does Miles have two 20 loss seasons now since we lost our secret scrimmages those years? Guess half the football team went 5-8 last year since they won the spring game.
  16. There’s no perfect process so there will always be an issue in getting the right teams in. 128 waters it down a bit
  17. Call me strange. It’s not broke. Don’t fix it.
  18. I wont fault Miles for Petteway. Pitchford was a loss.
  19. Football will always be primary, but that doesn't mean success has to be mutually exclusive
  20. It's a positive variable. Momentum? We'll see. If Copeland and Palmer leave and we don't sign another decent big....then that takes quite a bit away from it. I guess for me to consider there to be real momentum, there needs to be multiple positive things occurring or appearing to occur.
  21. Not a huge believer in tradition being a factor outside of a handful of teams. Kansas hoops would be one. K-State..not so much. They had some success in the 50s and 60s but that's not what made them competitive. It was taking a chance on Huggins. Finding the right guy. We might need to do the same. Take a chance on a guy who has had some issues in his past (cough Kelvin Sampson cough). There's absolutely zero reason why we can't come close to what a K-State is.
  22. Leron Black of Illinois has left Tyler Cook of Iowa is testing the waters but not signed with an agent so he could still return
