Here's a question sort of out of the blue. Why doesn't Nebraska allow 7th and 8th graders to compete on HS teams? It would greatly help smaller schools out, but it could also help out larger schools. When I was a senior in HS (many years ago, small school), we literally had 7 girls out for HS basketball. When my daughter was in HS (class A school), they were short on players and many played on 3 teams (varsity, reserve, and I can't remember the other names of the levels but there were 4 total and kids pulled at least double duty so the school would have enough to play). And here's another thing - add the damn shot clock.

I'm sitting here watching Scoggin play for UNLV tonight. She's a solid player. UNLV should make the NCAAs this year.

That's my take on it. The ruse happened the night before, and I imagine the gossip and video spread like wildfire among the team. They probably didn't sleep well either, so everyone was tired and even grumpier the day of the game. Williams may have decided to address it in a team meeting to try and get everyone focused again, except it went badly and spun out of control. I'm not basing this off anything I know, just my gut. Let me add this. After what happened the night before, Scoggin should have been pulled aside and protected from the inevitable shit show that would follow. At that point, nobody knows the entire story, so you proceed cautiously because if you have a brain in your head, you can see she's possibly a victim. Unfortunately, it doesn't sound like that is what happened.

I noticed how her parents were in on one of the meetings with AD TA. I agree, it definitely hints at Williams' husband knowing about this (and Williams herself).

I think it was dropped because he was no longer a university employee at that point. That oftentimes happens at universities (not just NU) when an employee is under investigation for something of this nature. If they leave, then the university drops the investigation.

The university needs to handle this correctly. If I'm a coach recruiting against us, and we sweep this under the rug, I'm pointing it out to every player and their parents.

This is exactly right. Love was in a position of power and control. How in the world could teammates know about this but the other coaches didn't? Sounds like one of the practice squad players was in on the ruse when they confronted her as well. I'm curious if her attorney has already spoken to some of the team members at that time (ones who left the team later on) about what transpired in this meeting where Ashley was yelled at. All it takes is one person to corroborate her story.

I notice how in the article it states Love pursued sexual relationships with students. Students - plural.

This Texas Tech/Baylor game is pretty ugly for Tech. Only 18 points at the start of the 4th quarter! They have more TOs than points!

This. And I know the Ohio State game stings because it was such a beatdown, but I feel like after the big Iowa win, we were going to have a tough game next time out. I'm glad it was OSU because we likely weren't going to win that game anyway (they are an excellent team, plus it was on the road), and I'd much rather lose to the true #2 team in the nation than, say, go to Illinois and lose to them.

I heard that Iowa didn’t show up to press room until after Nebraska celebration died down, which is why Nebraska went first. I would also argue Iowa didn’t show up for the 4th quarter either.

Creighton took a big step forward when Yori joined the staff. They will be tough for us to beat as long as she’s there. And, yes, I feel they have a much better WBB program at this time compared to us. I am disappointed our AD is satisfied with the WNIT, because I never will be. Guess that’s my problem (one of many I s’pose depending on who you ask).
