  1. - Player of the game is easy to pick. Nice game Tanner. - Jordy did not play bad. Here is my issue, he was isolated with his defender pinned behind him, and nobody would give him the ball. That tells me a story. Perhaps it shouldn't but, I am sorry, it does. It tells me that his teammates do not trust his offensive game. - Everyone else played below expectations. Hate to say it, but we should have won this game by 20+. Yet our complete offensive game was MIA. Okay, with as poorly as we played on the offensive side of the ball, we did defend okay, and bottom line -- we won. Given the lapses during the past years, that cannot be overstated. We won a game when our focus seemed to be on the upcoming weeks, and not on this game. Sooo, I will say nice win, and now we move on to games that will be tough day in and day out. One more thing to add. It is cold as heck outside, yet the fans showed up...we were certainly not loud, but that (in part) was because it was a hard game to watch.
  2. Heading to the vault for the game. Pathetic weather night, so I am not expecting a large or spirited crowd. We shall see. This is a game, that if the players are focused, we should win somewhat comfortably. I am thinking 15 to 20 point win is likely. More important is to build momentum as we go into the meat of our Big Ten schedule.

  4. That certainly may have played a part (and no, I did not forget) but there was also post-game conversation about some of his passes and other miscellaneous "complaints." Again, not a major concern, but the staff seemed to be using the experience as a coaching moment.
  5. I also believe Glynn was being taught a minor lesson as well. We need Glynn. But we also need him to become more consistent on the offensive end, and that includes providing catchable passes. I believe a few of his passes were less than acceptable. We cannot have those lapses as we move to the heart of Big Ten play. This is not a major snafu, but we have the talent that we can absorb some of those teachable moments.
  6. Yeah...I am not yet convinced. He simply does not "appear" to have all the tools. But hey, who am I to judge. Are we recruiting him?
  7. Merry Christmas! May we all receive a belated present in the form of a NCAA basketball tournament invitation with wins...
  8. ...and the Patriots QB was also guilty of cheating. Is that a new form of discipline?
  9. I would agree with you if this were football. But basketball is slightly different at Nebraska. We do not wear the same general uniform IT WAS THE UNIVERSITY that supplied the warm ups that are provided to the player, I may not like the hoods up, but that option is provided to the player. Also, I came from the period where all the players wore the same shoes, that is no longer the case. Hair is different, players have tats now, players are different in that they are millennials. They are different from Gen Xers and so forth. Just because they are different, does not make them bad or undisciplined. It just makes things different. Change is hard. A wise person once told me to lead, follow or get the hell out of the way. So you may not like it, but the days of Coach Knight or Coach Wooden have passed us by. Even Coach K and Coach Boheim have had to change in order to stay on top. Good discussion though. I personally do not like the warm up bottoms. Are they snapped, are they unsnapped, what the heck? But again, if the players like them, so be it. And by the way, I still think a small reason that Morrow left the Huskers related to the shoes. But then again, I also believe some of the conspiracy theories surrounding the Kennedy assassination.
  10. It was a great moment. Also saw the video where (I believe it was a Texas Tech football player) received word that he was on scholarship via a video played in front of the team. The video was from Gronk. Great to see those moments.
  11. By the way, in all seriousness, when did you get to the Vault? If you get there early, you would see the actual warm-ups where the assistant coaches are on the floor with the players and they go through drills and half-court sets. They then go back into the locker rooms and come out for the "more relaxed" "staying loose" process. They are basically in and out of the locker rooms 3 times prior to game time.
  12. Hahaha...there is one thing I would like back from the BOB, the popcorn what the heck, I would like to have all of the concessions for that matter. Other than that, I am glad the BOB is a thing of the past (except for Volleyball and the Olympic sports.) If you really want old school back, we could bring back the venue that I attended my first year at UNL...the Coliseum. Man, we could make the floor quake when we were jumping on the bleachers.
  13. Well...I played a lot of years ago. I also have coached a number of sports over a lot of years, but certainly not at this level. Times have changed, for example, triple threat position looks so much different these days, but it is still present. And if you read through much of the critique on this board about Jordy, you will note some concern with the sets involving our post players. Not only the sets, but execution of those sets. Welcome to the board.
  14. Any truth to the rumor that Fran rolled the water bottle out onto the floor
  15. Wow, they were a bad team. We sort of acted like a full cat, and were simply playing with the mouse. That said, we did move the ball well and had a lot of assists per baskets made. Nice to see. - Glynn is struggling. His shot is flat and he looks frustrated. Made some passes that were on target, or appeared to be on target, but ended up being turned over. Also took the breath of the crowd away, but thankfully he does not appear to be hurt. - Anton had another good performance. Man he looks smooth. Great to see. We are rolling up on his awful anniversary. - Thomas also had a good game. Missed a couple of open looks, but his stroke is solid. He is also starting to look comfortable. - James is solid, he seems to be able to get to the rim anytime he wants. - Evan again looked good. Steady eddy. - Jack and Thor both had loved ones in the crowd. Glad they both got minutes and both rang up three's. - Jordy looked a bit better tonight. He hustles and he made some nice shots and passes. He is still not back to where we need him. - Not much from Duby tonight. - Isaac started out great, but then sort of melted into the background. - Isaiah had a great dunk, defended well and rebrounded well. I would love to see him more involved on offense. Again, a win is a win. I thought we should have won by 30. So I was a bit disappointed with the way we won. But we did show some good offensive movement, and that is good to see.
  16. About ready to leave for the Vault. Honestly, I am hoping and expecting to see the end of our bench on the floor the last several minutes of the game. That will also mean that the parking lot will be easy to exist post-game as many in the crowd will be leaving early...then again, many leave early even if the game isn't a blow out.
  17. Nana has played...Unless it somehow morphs into a medical situation, I believe he no longer can redshirt.
