How did we not get Worthley's brother?

At least he got a shutdown inning.  Need to keep chipping away.

I just remembered the game was on.

Not good.  The pitching staff for the most part is struggling mightly.

Left a pitcher in too long again.

Might have been a little ass chewing last night.

Is there a curfew today?  Game is 2 hours old and only in the 5th inning.

This team looks like they are going through the motions.  Horrible effort throughout the whole game.  We need to get our crap together.

We can throw hosting out the window.  This team is in a tailspin.  We are going to be 2 - 6 in our last 8.  Now, we have to make sure we can win enough just to make a Regional. 

We have 2 bullpen guys we can trust (Dais and Worthly).  We have no reliable Sunday or mid week starter.  Our bats have cooled off.

Bases loaded.  Our best RBI guy up, and he stares at strike 3 right down the middle.

Bolt before the 5th inning after being asked how long he was going to stay with Clark.  "We hope to get him through this inning.  He hasn't been stretched out."

He has a really good 5th inning.  Bullpen is pretty rested.  Clark would leave on a positive note.  What's Bolt do?  Brings him out for the 6th with Clark on fumes.  Now, he is going to have a negative outlook after giving up a single, a home run, and a walk.

On a positive note,  Clark's last 3 outings have been very good.  6 1/3 IP 1 run 2 hits 2 bb 9 so 1 Hit batter

After watching 3 innings, I don't believe we have 7 runs on this junkballer.

Another junk ball pitcher, another crappy hitting performance.  2 baserunners with 2 and 3 up, both strikeout.

Much needed victory!

That was a nice answer.  I'm glad they listened to me.   

6 - 3 good guys halfway through. 

It's officially worry time.  Runner on 2nd, no outs.  3, 4, and 5 up.  3 straight strikeouts against a junk ball pitcher.  Then, we decide to kick the ball all around the park in the next half inning.  We need to get crap together and start playing ball.

I just saw we had Hufft in for Brumbaugh for defense. Understandable.   

However, so many things he did wrong that inning.  Should have pinch ran Buttenbach instead of Overbeek.  Knowing if you get to Hufft's spot in the order you can pinch hit Overbeek.  Since you did pinch run with him, you have to pinch hit Walsh in that situation.

Some of Bolt's recent decisions have not helped us.  That one takes the cake though.

We had probably 4 balls hit better than Dieters 2 home runs that stayed in the ballpark. 

Why do we PH Buttenbach when Brumbaugh flew out to the warning track 2 x today?  That was his 6th at bat of the season.   I would have rather had Walsh in that spot.

I hate Creighton with all my might.

They've decided to have Walsh pitch the weekends due to Christo's short leash.

I'm hoping Clark will take the starting mid week spot.

We really got to stop these batters from leaning into pitchers, or trying to get out of the way.  

They tried to start policing it, but it's gotten out of control again.

Blowing the 3 run lead in the 9th on Friday was a killer.

This kind of season reminds me a little of 2019.  Started the season 21 - 11 and 10 - 2 in conference. Went 3 - 8 in our next 11 before finishing 5 - 1 to finish out the regular season. 

Almost need a sweep over Maryland just to get back on track.

We have probably only hit 4 balls hard all day.   Not going to win many games doing that.

The HBP with 2 outs that should have been the 3rd out was awful.  I believe it should have counted as a strike making it the 3rd strike.  Rutgers goes on to take the lead.  

We haven't got the benefits of pitches being called down the middle for balls to get us in hitter's counts.
