  1. I'd have to say the tweet from White's dad leads me to believe Andrew is gone. I have no inside info. I've only observed the relationship between Kent and White throughout last season. It was cool seeing Kent and Andrew fist bump before a few games.
  2. You can substitute Jordy's name for any other C recruit the last few years. And substitute the list of schools for whoever is recruiting the player. I wouldn't get your hopes up as nothing has panned out the last few years and we've been in the same situation. Frustrating yes, but I wouldn't give up hope. A Leslie Smith type player at this time would be great IMO.
  3. http://www.slate.com/articles/podcasts/hang_up_and_listen/2016/03/hang_up_and_listen_on_the_ncaa_tournament_sue_bird_and_uconn_s_dominance.html Hang Up and Listen had a nice take on this at the end of their latest podcast. Jump 49 minutes in with about 12 minutes left and hear and funny commentary about this.
  4. The most glaring thing I have seen is you can't win consistently with major mismatches. This has been a staple for Miles playing two pgs many times as well as the undersized "C" we all have complained about.. No more playing two pgs together for significant minutes please. The slight defensive advantage with Benny completely disrupts the offense at times. You may be able to sneak a win here or there vs a Michigan St, but too many times the team was at a major disadvantage with the other team only have to guard 4 of 5. Makes it pretty easy to play D. Rebounding was terrible most of the year with these mismatches. The stats may not show it, but many times other teams had so many 2nd chances with offensive rebounds killing so much momentum. The freshman look good. I'd have to think all of them pretty much above expectations. Some might say they expected more out of Morrow, but its hard to say with his injuries at the end of the year. At times Watson, McVeigh, and Jacobson have all looked real solid. White was really good. Having him being the #1 option while Shields was out was good one game, but not so good the others. Once again this probably has a lot to do with injuries. Hopefully he was what it takes to be the leader next year. Future looks bright with Gill, Roby, and Horne entering the mix. Hopefully these new people and everyone with a year more experience can replace the production of Shields. It seems like a tall task, but should be doable. I will be having the same anticipation in the offseason as the past few years. Looking for the magic big body to show who can defend a big 10 center. Once again it is probably too late in the game to get anyone good. Maybe something changes the mind of one of these transfers this year. We'll see. I don't like this Groundhog day that seems to repeat each year.
  5. I'm sure NU has gone an 8 minute stretch shooting close to 80% before. They were not 81% for the entire game at that point. They were probably 55% or so for the game at that point in time. Still when a team makes 9 straight buckets in a row against you it has be pretty disheartening for the defense. It was amazing that it could have been a tie game with Shields making those FTs, NU was playing very solid to catch back up. I think NU will sneak a win in one of these next two games. The OF effeciency has been solid lately and the press might add a little something else to the mix.
  6. He has all the tools to be a second round pick. Only issue is his age. It might even happen at the end of this year. He is the real deal. Great pure shooter and while adding some boards.
