  1. Don't be fooled dimes, they know exactly what they're doing, it's a passive aggressive dominance signal. Most people are self-aware enough to understand that when they attend sporting events between two clubs and they wear the gear of a third (that happens to be a local rival) that they are sending a message. It comes mostly from a position of insecurity, which again, is annoying because they have nothing to be insecure about - yet they still seem to be somehow. I guess it's the chip-on-the-shoulder sports mentality that breeds it. Anyway, I'll just clarify here and say I'm not generalizing at all in any way but it happens and I've seen it at PBA. In the interest of fairness, I will add it happens all the time when I watch Royals games and they show fans there dressed in Husker gear (and even though I kind of get it 'cause Gordo) it still rankles me a bit. Huskers are not immune to having annoyingly insecure fans by any stretch. Maybe that's just me that's bothered, though. I don't even wear red when I go to Husker road games, but I digress. All of this is just a long way to go to explain that I expect people will be surprised at the amount of blue in the stands Wednesday night. It's gonna be more blue than usual, possibly the most blue ever in Lincoln. That's all.
  2. AKA "gorilla tactics"? hmm...
  3. Oh they're okay with it there, just as long as it's not a Tommie Frazier jersey tucked into jeans. That really sets them into a tizzy...
  4. Yes, I have noticed a considerable lack of shit-ball in the games of theirs I have watched so far. But conversely, there seems to be an uptick in the amount of "lob it in to Patton and see if he can pull the goal standard down a-la Shaq" offense played. So that's probably why.
  5. For the most part they're docile, no place putting necessary. But it is a pretty assholish move to wear Creighton gear to games not involving them don't you think? Not to mention how horrifically passive-aggressive and immature it is. But I guess that's on them and perfectly encapsulates the character of the fanbase in general. No self-awareness or respect at all. I'm glad I'm not one of them, just sad I have to sit so near them.
  6. KNTK - Early Break: Nebrasketball holds off South Dakota to move to 5-3…and now it’s the Week of Death Audio not supported (10:37) Huskers looked great in getting to a 26-4 lead in 1st half, but then fell apart in 2nd half before holding on for the win Can this team contend vs. Creighton and/or Kansas?
  7. Mods, can we get a thread title change to ***Official "talk about gorillas" thread*** please? Thanks in advance!
  8. Come on man, don't get off topic here. We're talking about Gorillas today...
  9. You know, I really like Gorillaz, they're a phenomenal band, especially live:
  10. Considering how cheap our season tickets are, it's not a huge outlay. But yeah, they do it. There's a couple of Jays fans that have season tickets near me in the 100 level. They regularly wear their CU gear to Big Ten games. It's frustrating.
  11. Couple years ago - I was shocked. Probably about 20% blue, and we were ranked at the time, or just a few weeks removed from a ranking. I estimate that due to increasing fan apathy in Lincoln and a highly energized fanbase in Omaha it would skew the numbers more blue. I could be wrong, but I bet I'm not.

  13. Right now, Jack is #10 in the nation in fouls committed per 40 minutes. Averaging just 1 per 40. If you're wondering why he's getting so much PT, that's probably a big reason. Well that and the fact he is our only legit 3 point threat right now. Ed is #49 in Offensive rebounds. Glynn is #35 in steals and #95 in FT%.

  16. While this is true, unfortunately it will also be true that PBA is going to be about 1/3 to half blue so it will be more like a neutral game for them. You might be surprised how many of their fans buy season tickets for Nebrasketball just for this game every other year.
  17. @Silverbacked1 is grumpy that you don't know the proper spelling of guerrilla. Then again, I suppose it's expected.
  18. Big jump for Illinois after a couple big wins, and Iowa...oh, Iowa... Also, take not of Louisiana Tech. They're creeping towards double-digits. 19. Anybody else notice the team huddle up at the jump circle (no coaches) after the game? Have they been doing that all season?
