  1. Is it because we are upgrading quality of athletes, size and overall players - so we aren’t required to be as “systematic” going forward due to higher quality of player and less about needing system to hide warts and defencies?
  2. There’s already been a massive upgrade of talent and athleticism. That will continue tomorrow with Griffiths’ official announcement
  3. Ooohhh don’t tease me with a good time. Tell me more about these do spinning wheels whispers.
  4. Fidler not announcing because Fred found extra NIL money for him in 13th hour (see Morgan) or because MSU made him reconsider his Wisconsin lean?
  5. Should be getting a lot of news starting tomorrow. Fidler news Griffiths commit (I hope - no intel, just hoping) News on other two predictions anyone?
  6. Where are you seeing he’s on campus right now? I’ve searched social media everywhere and can’t find anything
  7. I know we have a few people here "in the know" - so I'm hoping they can provide a little clarity here OR maybe even more clarity in my Direct Private Messages. Where do we rank with rest of Big 10 and similar programs in NIL money? Will there be an infusion of extra money starting right now because of this success? Should we be nervous about NIL money or able to compete with the borderline Top 25 type of programs? I just worry because, for example, last year we didn't have enough to get the PG who went to WVU, for example. Any insight publicly or privately would be very much appreciated.
  8. He was extremely engaged at practice today. So bizarre. Eli Rice looks great. No brace or wrap. Looks close to 100%. Hopefully he comes in when we are up 20 with 2 minutes left.
  9. I just wanted to say I am happiest for you guys (and others who I unintentionally neglected who have been following Husker Hoops for way more years than Matt & Scott & I). EVERY SINGLE PERSON HERE - I feel great for ALL OF US. But man... I'm so happy for those who have been around since Cipriano and Iba and even before. I just wanted you guys to know I was thinking about you today leading up to the selection - especially you, Jimmy. I haven't met some of you but I consider you friends. OK, off to watch a Nicholas Sparks movie with all this sap.
  10. I realize there is a recruiting forum here AND I realize there's a little exciting news going on with the program this week BUT since this isn't about a particular recruit I thought I'd post it here. How do we think coaches handle the transfer portal opening today? Are they so focused on A&M that they neglect it until after season? Is it unethical to recruit while a season is still going? Would it be a distraction to team if they knew about it? My guess is this Friday game allows us a bit more time to contact 6-10 guys and say something like, "Hey, we have a lot of season left and aren't making offers yet - but we are very excited about you and have been following you and look forward to contacting you after our tournament run. Hopefully you get a chance to watch us and let us know what you think, and that we can talk further soon." Is that how it goes - or do we just neglect it for a week or two? Obviously, a LARRGEEE majority of players that will transfer are still playing, too, and not even in the portal yet. Thoughts?
  11. UPDATE: I was able to sell my $1800 a pair floor seats in Omaha for $2000 - a $200 profit. I priced them too low because they sold within an hour. Probably could have made another couple hundred but "pigs get fed, hogs get slaughtered" Got $750 all session tickets in Memphis I believe in 111. LFG I am so excited!!! Although wish it was Charlotte because I lived there 3 years and its a wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy nicer city than Memphis
  12. I see he has as an 8 in his latest update so close grrrrr
  13. Where do you see Lunardi having us as a 7?
  14. Am I safe to sell the Omaha tickets now? Feel like we are locked in the 8/9. Thoughts?
  15. Update on my situation from a couple of weeks ago. My Mom (lifetime Nebraskan) is going to be joining me on the trip to watch the Huskers - no matter where they go!!! Three quick things (two questions). 1. Assuming we win ZERO (9 seed?) or ONE (8 seed?) game in the Big 10 Tournament, we end up in either Memphis, Charlotte or Brooklyn. Does anyone think we can get to the 7 line with TWO wins and if so, does that basically mean we could literally go almost anywhere? 2. I'm going to be buying TWO all session tickets to wherever we go. IN YOUR OPINION - is the BEST TIME to do this the INSTANT our site gets announced, or will scalpers already have them jacked way up at that point expecting there to be a panic rush? AKA, would you look to buy them Sunday at 5:30 PM or wait a day or two to get them? Trying to decide what best time would be for price points. 3. If anyone wants my Omaha tickets (pair, $1800, 6 rows up from court along baseline) I will be selling them for what I paid (which was $1,800). I bought them in case Nebraska ended up in Omaha thinking they'd double in price - but since that appears a longshot, I'll be selling them. Doubt anyone here wants them but just in case. Interested in hearing your thoughts.
  16. PS I should also add that I think we played a "C-" game last night and still kept it within single figures with Jameson Battle turning into Lebron James. I think that's encouraging. We are clearly more confident, sharp and cohesive. We have turned a page even from a month ago. Good sign that we can play "C-" and still come within two made three's and one less made three from winning.
  17. First of all, "that's what she said" on my title (I just now noticed as I started typing). I'll lead with my thoughts on the OSU game and finish with a question for all my fellow Husker Hoops junkies. THOUGHTS ON OSU: -Any sort of normal shooting night and we win that game. Any sort of average Jameson Battle game and we win that game. -If Juwan makes 2 of his six three's, and Battle makes one less of his, we win. -We missed way too many layups again - the one Juwan missed on the second half from the left that would have tied it was the biggest miss. -Our defensive intensity was good early but seemed to kind of wane in the middle. -The refs didn't help but didn't decide the game. We didn't attack much to earn that many fouls AND we did get away with a few bodies on them. We certainly were -3 or -4 on calls but not enough to swing the game if we just make shots. -Robbie Hummel is atrocious. He clearly doesn't like Nebraska. He's the only B1G analyst I don't like. He's not fun to listen to in a game, overly negative and has a clear vendetta against NU. -Keisei was awful last night and took a couple just awful shots. -Everything was short. Legs tired again? Luckily we have a nice break after Rutgers. -I am SCARED TO DEATH of Rutgers and have been for 5 weeks, ever since they got their (arguably) best player back. This isn't a bottom feeder team, even if their metrics say it. They aren't Missouri or Michigan without Dug. They're legitimate. If we dont' play well, we will lose. -We beat them, we are guaranteed Dayton. One more after that we are guaranteed to avoid Dayton. We lose to them, though, we will need two wins to make sure we make the tourney and maybe even 3 to avoid Dayton. While I say it's not a bottom feeder team - unfortunately metrics won't agree AND we're Nebraska, so we always need 1-2 extra wins. Now my QUESTION. Does anyone else play Wolverine Studios "College Basketball?" The 24 version comes out this week and is the most insanely amazing NCAA Hoops game ever. Just need to download a mod and you get real teams, all conferences, all coaches, all courts, etc etc. You recruit, schedule opponents, deal with making the tourney, moving up the ladder as a coach, etc. It's addicing as heck. I lose 100+ hours a year on it and always start at a mid major before working my way up to Nebraska. But in that game, TEAM PRESTIGE is a big thing with recruits and the pollsters (again, it's VERY dead on to real life). And I've noticed that my prestige gets BUMPED UP MORE throughout the years whenever I win the Big 10 tournament versus winning simply one game in the NCAA Tournament. So I ask you, in a hypothetical world... Would you rather lose in the Big 10 tournament but WIN ONE GAME in the NCAA Tournament? OR would you rather win the Big 10 tournament - be Big 10 Champs - and lose in the NCAA Tournament? Either way, you're in the dance, but which of the two scenarios do YOU prefer and which do you think RECRUITS prefer? Interested to hear these thoughts and hope someone else out there plays this game. I play it on my laptop at work a lot since 80% of game doesn't require you to play games so nobody can tell I'm not working when I'm recruiting or scouting hahhahahaha
  18. Love that she's letting you keep your pact AND love that dog. hahha GBR
  19. Great thoughts and insight in here. Keep the thoughts coming!!!
  20. But does it matter WHEN I buy the single? Still better to buy early?
  21. Am I losing it or did you earlier say it might be better to buy tickets LATER if I'm going solo? I think Omaha is only site I'd buy now. But if it looks as if I'm going solo, you still think its better to wait on that for Omaha?
  22. If it feels like I'm overwhelmed with possibilities and thus asking you to allow me to lay on your couch, unload my thoughts/worries and pray that you'll give me answers - you're right. That's the exactly what I'm asking. Haha. I have made a lifelong commitment to myself that NO MATTER WHAT - I will BE THERE when we win our first NCAA Tournament game. Background on me - I'm a 43 year old radio host in Kansas City. Single, no kids, so I have some financial freedom and the ability with my job to essentially get off work whenever I need to. I have requested the Wed-Fri off the week of the first round in order to travel on Wed and be at whichever site we end up at until Sunday night. I realize there's a 15% chance the Sunday night things could ruin our Round of 32 game but I have enough freedom where I could also call in on Monday if need be. What do I do in preparation? I see many on here have bought tickets in Omaha in case we go there - many have booked some flights that are cancelable to certain sites - I guess I'll just ask a whole bunch of questions below and I'm hoping some people would be kind enough to quote and answer all of these. The more the merrier as I devise my strategy. Tiny more background - I am a ticket snob and want to be on the floor. Behind the baskets if I have to but hopefully on baseline or at worst, in corner. So I know I'm going to have to pay a pretty penny. I may or may not have friends going with me - others don't seem as keen on spending the amount of money this might take. So I might be going solo. Has anyone ever done this? OK - I'm asking your advice if YOU were ME. What would YOUR strategy be on: 1. Do we think the odds of us in Omaha are higher than the 12.5% (1/8) that math dictates? I'm guessing its more like 25-30% we end up there - although maybe they truly don't want to give us a home game. Anyone have any clue on our odds in Omaha? 2. I see good seats in Omaha are roughly $700-$900 per ticket for ALL THREE sessions. Is this already priced way up where I just wait it out and DON'T buy them now? As in - if we don't go there, am I going to have a tough time breaking even on that purchase price? I'm guessing they double from that if we do go there. Thoughts on strategy here? 3. While we're on the topic of tickets and sessions - would you BUY ALL THREE SESSIONS NOW or ONLY buy one and two? (in case we lose) 4. Is the NCAA website (linked to Ticketmaster) the official place to buy them? That's what it's appearing like to me. I'm guessing they aren't face prices and they're all third party listings at this point, correct? 5. Is that the best site to buy them at? 6. How would you handle flights if you were me? Just wait until Selection Sunday? I don't really want to book 5 flights and cancel 4. Seems risky. 7. How would you handle hotels if you were me? I'm guessing these are easier to cancel? Any suggested site for this? 8. Last, how would you handle other friends that "want to go" but "aren't sure yet?" Do I just wing this Selection Sunday or try to buy stuff now? AWWW this is stressful. Any guidance, thoughts, advice, other feedback is appreciated. Dave
