  1. Doesn't look like they're going to get blown out in any games unless they fall apart tomorrow. Opponent is expected to be about as good competitive as their opponent on Tuesday.
  2. If Pitchford could have kept his head on straight last year and been about the team, I have no question that he could have been an asset to both last year's team and this one, but he couldn't do that. We played better last year when he wasn't on the court, there's too much talent in that kid for that to have been the case.
  3. They look closer to low to middle of the pack Missouri Valley teams to me in terms of quality.
  4. My question still stands, though: Does it matter how good the competition is?
  5. This isn't meant to be critical of this comment. Question I have is whether or not it matters how good the competition is? This is more about Nebraska learning how to play with each other and coming together as a team before there's anything at stake. That said, I bet this competition is better than anything the Jays faced... You might have misread Norm's post. He said the stream, not the team. The stream > my reading comprehension tonight, apparently...

  7. So, it'll be interesting to see what kind of season Tai has without those two chuckers going Kobe. Early returns looked pretty decent. Hope he keeps it up. Even better if he starts hitting a good percentage of his deep shots. Having a couple shooters to spread the court should help, too.
  8. This looked like a decent mid-major team, the Spanish team, that is. Lots of jumpers, some good players, but no great ones. Fair barometer for the first time these guys have ever played together in a live-game scenario.
  9. I'll take the one we know has a pro on it. This year's squad may have more raw talent, but I can't pick 'em until I see them on the floor. Check back around Christmas.
  10. "I'm not scared. I'm actually very humble..." Is that how it works, huh?
  11. I'm in the White III camp as well. Also, I have a hunch Fuller takes a big step forward. If he becomes the shooter we all have heard he can be, he could be a terrific compliment to AW3 and could really create some defensive spacing issues for teams...If he can make that step up. If those two prove they can shoot, that opens things up for Watson (and perhaps Tai...) to get into the lane. Then we get to have some fun. Also, Evelyn should be able to be very effective in this role if you can put two shooters on the floor. Frankly, we NEED the guys like Tai and Fuller to step up this year just as much as we need contributions from the newcomers.
  12. I'll just say this...Nebraska played it's best game of the season when Walter was kicked out...
  13. He didn't actually make a prediction...lol, he listed just about everyone in that paragraph.
  14. In the Lee B. article, Miles said he wants a game they can win, a game where they get killed and two games where it could go either way. I like that.
  15. Both of the last two ware after visiting for football games. Look to see who they bring in for BYU and probably Wisconsin. Those are the games we'll probably bring in our biggest recruits for. We have hoops recruits at most home games each year, though.
  16. Someone named Bol Bol has to be a shooter, right?
  17. Nah, that wouldn't fit the rest of it. This guy might, though.
  18. If I was Eaton -- and I'm not, just in case any of you were wondering -- I'd jump at a chance to burnish my resume like this. I think uneblinstu or someone suggested it would be sort of bush league for Miles to promote the guy for only a year. I don't get that. If the guy understands going in that it's a 1-year deal and HE'S OK with it, who are we to complain? Yeah, it was me. And I've cooled on that the more I've thought about it. For Eaton it'd be a great opportunity that many in his position never get a chance to do. Even if it is only as an "interim", for someone in his position, that is invaluable experience. I interpreted what someone was saying differently than what I think was intended and it struck me funny back when this all was fresh.
  19. I don't think this is a true statement. I seem to recall Miles mentioning that one of his other guys stepped up into the recruiting role after Harriman left. I have to assume we've got it covered again. Do you know for sure that we're down a guy on the road right now? Seems to me, more I think about it, elevating the internal candidate to an interim AC makes the most sense. I'm sure we had one of the other staff members out recruiting in place of Harriman after Chris left. If you send that guy back out now, it's going to have more umph with potential recruits if you can call him an assistant coach than if you just say he's filling in for now while we're waiting to hire another assistant. Promote the internal guy on an interim basis. Let him have the title. And see what he can do. For all we know, he's the next Craig Smith. Eaton's on the road now, he was on the road in the gap between when Harriman left and Burno was hired. He'd be the favorite if they decide to go to the interim route, which seems likely at this point.
  20. Nothing has been said publicly one way or the other.
  21. I think you will see a much better team. How much better the record gets is still up for debate as the schedule is tougher. Why do you say the schedule's tougher? 4 pretty good teams away from home in the non-conference along with 2 pretty good teams at home and the Big 10 will be better Could be. I'm not convinced the conference schedule will be more difficult, though. We've got more favorable H/H in conference this year. The one plays are split fairly evenly as to which we play at home vs. away, IMO. In non-con, I think it's pretty comparable to last year with the exception of Nova. We didn't have anything like that last year. I expect NU to be more talented than last year, not sure if that means we'll be better or not. I'm anxious to see how the B1G conference will stack the games.
