  1. ...this is what makes me so uneasy about all of this. Though I'm on board with what Riley is doing, if a move is made, I don't expect to be thrilled with whoever they hire...
  2. Then prep school might be a very real possibility for him. Unless I misunderstand how prep schools work, which is not out of the realm of possibility.
  3. My ears always perk up when the columnist takes a side on a topic. That rarely comes from nowhere.
  4. It's very likely Fuller will be transferring as a senior transfer.
  5. If two spots open up, which I think is possible, this is a guy I'd take. With as much depth as we're projecting for next year, we could easily withstand him getting a redshirt year and do that developing under the watch of the NU staff rather than from someone out at some prep school. That would make that '18 class massive, even more so than it's already expected to be, though I don't expect that whole class to be full of high schoolers. If two spots don't open up, then perhaps the prep school is something to explore. I have no idea if that's on their radar or not, but it's something I thing would be worth exploring.
  6. The question is, can Palmer shoot like Volde...HWSNBN III?
  7. Sure, but that's right at our season average. If they convert of just two of those, it dramatically impacts the game. Heck, just one does!
  8. I don't think so. I'm not sure if there are grade issues or anything like that at play or not. And, I'm just an amateur observer, but the times I've seen him play, I've seen a game that would translate, probably after a year or two of S&C work, to the D1 level. Perhaps, sans other options, he becomes a walk on candidate.
  9. ...yet... I have no idea if it's something he'd be willing to do, but maybe the Arop plan would be a good one here. That '18 class is one where you could do something like this. I could very easily see him going somewhere else, in the Big Ten or otherwise, and NU regretting it for a long time.
  10. Well, in a game that went to overtime and you lose by 1, it's the little things. The rushed shot early in the shot clock. The travel that should have been called that wasn't that ends in a made 3. The one time you didn't secure the rebound. The missed layup. It all adds up and in tight games, you could pick on any one of them..
  11. I don't, no, but I'm on board with the rest! A little momentum over the next couple of weeks (with 6 winnable games left on the schedule) and not playing on the first day of the tournament would help, too...
  12. Yep. It's been met with obstinate indifference from the fans both times.
  13. Solid. The Cheerleaders tried to get the crowd to do it before the team came out on the court. It was about as passive-aggressive of a confrontation as you can get. The fans were having none of it. When the Wisconsin intros were going, however, it was loud and full throated.
  14. - It was great to have Ed back! His rust was evident at times, but man, he made a big difference inside. - Jordy had a rough night. - Man, Roby flashed some tantalizing things. That was the best effort he's shown all year. We need more of that. - Didn't think Jack was particularly great. He got lost a few times on defense. I don't know how much of that was his fault. He did hit a couple big shots, though. It's really huge that's he's found his shot again. - Jacobson played 26 minutes last night. It felt like he only played 16. I know he's not at 100% or maybe it's just that we had an extra body in the rotation plus Roby playing well. - But dang, he hit some big shots, huh? Too bad they didn't win or that 3 to send it to overtime might have been one of legend. That was a really cool moment. - Thought Watson was fighting that injury all night. He had his best offensive game in a while, but you could tell he was fighting it a bit. - The refs had a rough night. That's all I'll say about that. - Webster did his thing, but he had a handful of shots that were fairly head scratching. - A season high number of turnovers, some absolutely mystifying, looms large. NU had only been above 20 one other time this year, vs. Gardner-Webb. Only one other time this year have they been above 15 and that was vs. Mary. Really uncharacteristic performance there tonight. Maybe Wisconsin played a part in that, but on the whole, that's probably the first place I'd look when dissecting how NU lost this game. - Ethan Happ gets the Aaron Craft treatment from the refs. That was astounding. He's whistle immune. I just watched the highlights and holy hip check, Batman! Lots of contact before that block. - So, NU has Ed back, Glynn's able to play and NU's probably as close to full strength as they're gonna be the rest of the year. The schedule sets up for a decent little run to close it out. If this group can keep their wits about them with all the close losses and injuries they've endured, I think they've got it in 'em. It starts on Tuesday vs. Penn St.
  15. Also, Wisconsin very nearly lost to Rutgers, too. That was a very difficult game to watch. If this one is too, and NU wins, I'll deal with it.
  16. For an anti-adidas thread, there are a lot of pro-adidas posts in it.
  17. So, The Team Which Must Not Be Named hasn't offered him, huh?
  18. I hope the coaches wear early 90's style suits, too.
  19. Dang, more than 40 of those points came in the 4th quarter. What's nuts is that despite him scoring 92, his teammates still scored more than 50 more points to add to that. That's nuts. Not good basketball either.
