Unfortunatly I think you are correct. Eventually we will start beating out some of these schools but when UNLV comes calling it's hard to turn them down.
Why? Because it's a big city with casinos? Lots of recruits turn them down every year. What's so special about UNLV that you think we can't compete with them? I mean, if you had said, " ... but when Duke comes calling it's hard to turn them down" I could understand it. But UNLV? What's so special about them? The slot machines? The hookers? What?
Because they currently are and historically have been a much better basketball program than us.
No, they aren't Duke. But I think they're firmly in the "second tier" of household-name college basketball programs, especially since they've risen back to prominence in the last few years. We aren't even close to that, yet.
