Anyone who thinks Moos is making any of the decisions on firing and hiring you are kidding yourself.  This hire is all on Dennis Green and Hank Bounds. 

It's very telling that the Moose isn't around.  I'm hearing the decision has been made for a change. Take it for what you want but pretty good source but he's also given me really off the wall stuff in the past. He is sure about this.

I'm pretty sure this has to do with the hippie lettuce on more than one occasion. 

By the way, has anyone been over on Red Sea Scrolls lately?
The Nebrasketball haters dominate nearly every basketball thread over there.  There are a handful of posters, in particular, who absolutely shut down every basketball thread with unrelenting, vile and vicious stuff.  I think it’s the worst-ever over there—and I’ve been there a long time.
So, it’s refreshing on this board to read posts (like this one) from people who actually like the Huskers—hopefully the Scrolls folks don’t bring their venom over here!
I’m guessing it’s a sign of fear, among some over there, that Nebrasketball might actually be getting it together.
If it weren’t for Robin Washut’s information and insights on basketball, I’d drop my Red Sea Scrolls subscription in a heartbeat.  In fact, upon writing this, I can’t believe I’m actually paying to read that garbage.

New guy has been picked. Big ten ties but currently in SEC. They are excited about the hire. One time assistant at Northwestern I think.

Sorry for the bad information but I  was told this was done. My guy has been spotted on with is info and I felt confident in sharing. Will try to do better in the future.

Please no one laugh at this but do we really want to take 3 star players if they want to commit?  A couple of years ago i would be wetting myself at the thought of kids like this but now it seems like we have bigger fish to fry.

Dean, you are going to have to knock off this unacceptable behavior. You go too far. There will be no literary references allowed on the board. Please stick to Larry the Cable guy allusions or classic hits of the '60s '70s and '80s.

Glad you got this right, 49er. I had thought maybe one of these guys was a 16 and the other two were so bad they subtracted stars. This rating system is becoming as difficult to figure out as deciding what to eat at Denny's.

Coach Miles and staff did have a clinic for high school coaches Friday night/Saturday. I was able to go and watch practice for awhile Saturday in Devaney.
Take my impressions for what they are worth, I only was able to watch for a little over an hour.
-Coach Miles runs a well organized practice that is uptempo, which is to be expected. What I didn't expect is how physical the practice was, lots of contact, and the hits they were delivering during a take a charge drill were harder than any I saw Saturday afternoon in the football game.
They did a lot of drill work, I didn't see them get up and down the court too much but from what I could tell about individual players.
-Biggs has a very quick first step, and can elevate. Not a consistent outside shooter from what I saw but has some range.
-Parker looks smooth, has a ways to go to pick up the system and things but has talent
-I thought Ray, Menke, and Talley looked like our best shooters, and shooting was emphasized a lot throughout the practice.
-Sergei is all of 7-1, skilled, and lanky, but needs some time in the weight-room before he's ready for the big time
-Pitchford looks the part of a legit power forward, Coach was on his case quite a bit about effort and attitude, I think he expects a lot out of him.
-Shields is going to be a good one, he's somewhat raw but athletic enough to get to the basket. I would expect him to play a ton this year.
I saw a lot of teaching going on during the practice. You can tell it's early and a new system for the kids, but they were working hard. Miles did a nice job of using his assistants who were very involved in the practice.

Remember the good old days when the janitors sweeping the court WAS the halftime entertainment?
We (students) sometimes would make it into a race and cheer for the floor sweeper of our choice.
Good times!
Now, it's just dancin' grannies and weirdoes wheeling around in giant contraptions and fools jumping around on mini-tramps.
I say bring back the halftime floor sweeping, and maybe the occasional gymnastics demonstration or something.
