  1. I think you recruit freshman that will

come in a fit a role and might develop into an all conference type, and when available and within reason take the swings at those top 50 players (Bryce McGowen) especially when they have connections to the university. I tend to like Hoiberg strategy right now, frager/nano fit my expectations, as did Rice last year was also that type. Transfer/grad are more reliable you know there production level

Football, but along the same lines...

We now live in a world where true freshman transfer before the season starts:

Crazy world, but I’m happy that Rhule is pushing this kids to make their visit during spring practice, and practices in general, I remember when I was looking at colleges

for football, I’d see the game day environment, everyone is all smiles and energy is great, but I was in for a shock my first fall camp and spring camp, coaches are different energy is different and your just like what did I get myself into, I like that these kids are seeing this at NU

Would Creighton or Michigan State be worse? at least with Creighton we get it over with early in the season and don't have to watch them again. Michigan State we'll be competing with in standings all year long.

Rationally.. MSU, but in my heart creighton, as yet again we have a chance to get some home grown talent that’s prospered elsewhere back at NU, and yet again they spurned, and this time it’s 3 players that would make a big time difference for us

IT’S EITHER GREAT NEWS OR THEY ARE ALL GOING TO CREIGHTON THERE IS NO IN BETWEEN. PREPARE TO GET YOUR HEARTS RIPPED OUT.

We had a great season, lot of good positive vibes and momentum.. this just seems right, I’m ready to be hurt again

And can we all agree to not get too overexcited about the token 6’11” high ceiling 17 year old we bring in this summer to be on the scout team next season

We can agree (as I know that I will not uphold this agreement when we sign some 7’1 young man from England by way of Nigeria, and I blow his highlights way out of proportion, and talk myself into him being all conference in 3 years, as I forgot all prior evidence that these rarely stay 3-4 years)

  6. It’s always plus to have a guy like this, just a guy that knows how to run and lead a team, it comes in real handy in February and March when games get tight, I really like this signing, as KZ said allows Brice just to be a free flowing playmaker, whoever they bring in as another vet guard just be a scorer and if we can get Ulis up to speed allows Hoiberg to just be a good solid backup guard and he dosnt need to try and run offense

Here's a link to the prediction on Griffiths.

And this is a description of him from the Rutgers official bio (he was a freshman last season).

Gavin Griffiths, a 6-foot-8, 193-pound guard joins the Knightood for his first season in Piscataway. Griifiths is from the Kingswood-Oxford High School in West Hartford, Conn.,

Griffiths was ranked the No. 20 recruit in the country (247 Sports), marking the highest-ranked player landed in the Steve Pikiell-era and the second-highest recruit to attend RU in the modern era. Only former Rutgers guard Mike Rosario was ranked higher at the time of his recruitment (2008). Griffiths is also ranked No. 1 in the state of Connecticut by 247 Sports. Griffiths was upgraded from a four-star recruit to a five-star recruit in January of 2023.

Griffiths, Worster, Hickman, close it out with Kyle III sounds good to me

Omaha also picked up his replacement from the JUCO ranks that basically plays his position and is a prolific scorer.  So....

On top of that, wheels are allegedly spinning at Nebraska that could make it more difficult for him to find a large number of shots.  I'm not saying we are not the landing spot; but one really has to wonder who Fred has lined up and when the domino's start falling.

who are we seriously in the running for(this isn’t me questioning, just saying it out loud to try and track the portal)

We need another big man ( Hugeley, Kyle, Payne?, are we hoping the other two will wait til The end of the month til

    Kyle makes a decision?)

Can the millic kid play wing/guard wings

and than for PG? The Bradley kid or the other transfer from Utah, is that basically all? It’s hard to keep track!

I watched him and thought he was limited. Pretty slow footed. On the other hand, his offensive efficiency is elite. Of his final 4, I think he'd be the best fit at Mich State (top 10 defense, fills a void), but that's probably his 4th choice.

I gotta say of his options, Michigan State can hide his defiances the best, they always have a slower footed shooter that succeeds, because they 1, 4,5 are just straight dawgs on defense most years. I think he’ll really

struggle at Wisky, and Creighton could be his second best option as they always seems succed with his type of play, but they just aim to outscore any one in Big East,

  10. I hope I’m wrong, but I don’t think we’re getting either of Kyle or Fidler, Kyle wants to take a visit to Wake Forest, and Fidler

im guessing goes to either the evil empire (flying blue-rats) or the first order (wiscansin). I was hopeful but the vibes are off. I hope we can get the Rutgers transfer, and than figure it out from there.

    Here is where we sit:

Guards: Brice, Ahron, Jamarques, Sam, CJ, Cale, Nick, Braden

Bigs: Matar, Blaise, Juwan, Rienk, Henry

    Who am I missing?

It is always painful and exciting going through this process...but as mentioned by others, it is the world we live in.  I am so much more confident given the staff that we have on board.

What’s Blaise status like can we count on him next year?

Need to bring William Kyle home. He's gonna have a lot of offers. He is turning into an absolute monster. Same dawg mentality as Allick, but a bit taller, more explosive and a lot longer.  6'9" with a 7'3" wingspan and 40+ inch vertical. I heard that he led the country in dunks this year. Can't figure out how to verify if that's true.  Summit League DPOY, first team all-conference, conference tournament MVP. Shoots 62% from the field and is a real rim protector. Humble kid, academic all-conference. I'd take him over Omoruyi or any other big in the portal and not because he's from Omaha.

Agreed, to me he almost a must get because he upgrades that Allick role, and allows Mast ( if he returns) to be hidden on defense a little bit, and maximize energy on gang rebounding and offense, and than when we got small with (Gary also assuming he returns) that offense is even scarier, this would be a fantastic get

Hear me out here, and I realize not everyone will return next year but the athleticism upgrades might already be on the bench aside from a 6’8 PF that can shoot the rock

I think rice is gna make a big jump, and ik he had some defensive lapses and he had minimal playing time but Diop had some nice moments and I would mind him getting some run. But I areee we need a big, another athletic big 6’8 to 6’10

I know we won and I don't want to throw a damper on that, but this seems to be a recurring theme on the season: Keisei doesn't seem to like to pass to Bryce and Bryce doesn't seem to like to pass to Keisei. Neither assisted on a made shot for the other today. And there were times where they each made a harder play when the easier play and higher percentage play would have been to the other.

Stop it, guys. There's too much riding on this season. The offense stops when the ball stops in one guy's hands.

I noticed around the under 5 mark in the 1st half , there was a possession that Keisei was doing his curry impression with Brice wide open at the 3 off the elbow and Brice just shook his head, like he knew no matter what KT is putting it up. Than after that Sota put up back to back points on KT and Gary was kinda yelling at this direction. Could be something, could be nothing but it’s def something that could bite us in March.. the 14 team didn’t really have this problem I don’t think, shields respected Petteways heat checks, and petteway knew shields was his automatic secondary go to, with Walter available in the corner.

I have heard people say that what this team is missing is a James Palmer or Terran Petteway... Which I kind of agree with - but the thing is - it's literally on the roster. That could easily be Brice Williams. He's got the length, athleticism, 3-Level scoring ability, etc...

This staff needs to figure out Brice Williams. He is not lazy, he is not uninspired or unemotional, as people have said - the dude clearly cares and is giving it his all. It seems to me to be more of a confidence issue. They've gotta figure out a way to get him confident and recognize that he could be a dude. This guy has the tools to score ~18-20 a game or so.

If they can figure out a way to unlock Brice from ear to ear, that will unlock this season in my opinion.

I was saying this all night to my father in law, Illinois in the top the of the second half was killing is getting to the basket anytime they wanted. We need a James Palmer type, I like Brice but he dosent have that mentality that James had, we’re a top 15 team if we have James on this team
